“To be fair, I was kinda hogging you,” I say, throwing myself down into one of the spinning office chairs.
“Are you okay?” Andi murmurs, her face buried in Eli’s suit.
I catch the slight tremble in his shoulders.
“Yeah, fine,” he rasps. “Just—just gotta make sure my body gets the memo that you’re actually here.”
She manages to pull back from his embrace enough to see his face.
“I’m here, promise.”
And then Eli’s lips crash down onto hers.
The intoxicating mix of Andi’s honey-sweet chamomile and Eli’s blood orange nearly makes me dizzy. Probably because all the blood that should be in my brain is shooting straight to my dick.
Fuck, the two of them are hot.
One of his massive hands trails down her back to cup her ass, giving it a squeeze through her fancy pantsuit, making her moan into his mouth.
I actually have to bite my fist to keep myself from saying anything stupid. Like, let me join.
Bad idea.
Not necessarily a bad idea in general, but a bad idea right now. Because the last thing Andi needs is for the first time we’re together to be in the backrooms of a courthouse.
“Look who’s hogging now,” Andi pants when they finally break apart from their kiss.
“Keep being a brat, Princess, see where that gets you,” Eli growls, his voice low.
“I suspect her brattiness is a natural part of her,” Everett comments, his hazelnut whiskey scent thick in the air of the windowless room we’re in. It showcases that he’s just as affected by witnessing Eli and Andi’s make-out session as I am.
It reminds me of when the two of them made out in the kitchen, what feels like a lifetime ago.
Eli gives Andi’s hips one last squeeze before letting go and straightening up to his full height.
“Come here,” Everett says, his voice soft but no less domineering. He’s leaning against the large, oval table.
Andi brushes some of the hair that’s fallen out of the neat knot at the base of her head away from her face as she steps between Everett’s spread legs.
“Good girl,” he murmurs, reaching out to grasp her chin gently. There’s a moment of silence as he takes her in, cataloguing every single detail.
He leans forward and brushes a single kiss against her forehead.
For whatever reason, the sight of the single forehead kiss is nearly as hot as Eli and Andi’s full-on make-out session.
Maybe it’s the way Everett is holding Andi’s chin, or the way Andi melts into his touch like she wants nothing more than to turn her brain off. Whatever it is, it’s not helping my perfume situation. There might as well be a whole collection of bright neon signs pointing directly at me, screaming I’m throbbing in my slacks.
“Cameron mentioned you’ve been starved of physical contact,” Everett murmurs. “You poor thing.”
Andi’s tongue traces along the inside of her cheek, her eyes twinkling. It’s something I’ve noticed she does when she’s deep in thought. It also sends my mind deep into the depths of the gutter. I might as well be in the catacombs right now..
“Don’t sound so patronizing,” Andi huffs with a roll of her eyes.
“You poor thing,” Everett repeats, the grip he has on her chin shifting so he’s gently grasping her jaw.
The air in the small room seems to practically crackle with tension.
“We’re going to have to fix that, aren’t we,” Everett murmurs, angling her head away so he can run his nose along the column of her neck.
