“What?” I asked innocently. He climbed back onto the bed with me and I slid my arms around his neck. “I figured it was only fair.”

“True, but it’s not making things any easier.”

“I wasn’t aware you wanted easy,” I joked. “If so, what are you doing here with me?”

“Honestly? I have no idea.” His tone was light, but there was something in his eyes that made it look like he wasn’t sure he was kidding. “That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop, though.”

“Good, because if you even tried, I’d have to kill you.”

I kissed him again as he tore open the condom, but then I had to let him go for a second to roll it on. In those few moments, every trace of humor between us faded, replaced by a heat and intensity unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

Isaac kissed me tenderly once the condom was on, sinking into me slower and more carefully than ever. I wrapped my fingers around one of his shoulders and caught his cheek in my other hand, kissing him back. We moved together like we were cementing something that couldn’t exist.

The man had always felt amazing inside me, but tonight, we felt connected on a deeper level. He brushed against every part I needed him to, the pressure, rhythm, and pace all utterly perfect. Before I knew it, my orgasm was building, my muscles tensing in anticipation.

Isaac seemed to be right there with me, his breathing growing choppy. Every thrust slammed into me with definite intention. Until he lost control completely, kissing me hard as we hit that edge at the exact same time and went flying over together.

The climax exploded out of me from deep down inside, sending pleasure cascading through the core of my being. I contracted around him, my nails digging into his skin. I screamed his name, way past of the point of caring who heard me. Isaac thrust into me one last time, my own name a low, soft groan when he came.

In the aftermath, he dropped the condom next to the bed, muttering something about cleaning up later before he settled us both under the covers and wrapped me up in his arms. He held me tight. His heart still hammered under my ear when I finally drifted off, realizing without meaning to that whatever had just happened between us, it’d been so much more than I’d ever expected.

CHAPTER 31

ISAAC

The first thing I became aware of as I regained consciousness early the next morning was the soft murmur of Jasmine’s voice. Cracking one eye open, I saw her sitting cross-legged on the bed, wearing one of the ridiculously plush robes the ship provided and nothing else.

Behind her, morning sun shone into the suite through the open curtains, turning the surface of the Nile to a liquid gold outside. Her hair was still a little messed up from last night, her phone pressed to her ear as she studied a breakfast menu.

“Yes,” she said. “Fresh orange juice. I don’t want a bottle. Fresh, and a full continental breakfast.” She paused for a second to listen, then sighed. “That’s fine. I don’t need eggs. No, I want to eat in my room. Oh, and a black coffee.”

“You’ve already ordered coffee,” I mumbled, smiling into my pillow.

She glanced over her shoulder, catching me watching her, and her grin looked nothing like the polished, public, guarded version of Jasmine Saad. “I ordered your coffee. This is mine.”

“Right.” I sat up, waiting until she’d finished and thanked the person on the other end of the line. “Good morning, gorgeous.”

She reached over to put the phone down and I caught her wrist, pulling her back to me. She laughed. “What are you doing?”

“I wasn’t done,” I murmured, tugging gently until she landed back at my side. “See, isn’t that much better?”

She burrowed into my side. “You’re very clingy this morning.”

“I’m just comfortable and you’re warm.” I slid an arm around her waist and let my eyes slide shut again. “Go back to sleep.”

“No.” She giggled, brushing a kiss against my bare chest before sitting up again. “Room service will be here in a few minutes.”

I groaned. “I’d say to let them leave the food at the door, because I have other plans for breakfast, but the coffee needs to come in.”

She made a noise of amused approval, one hand starting to trace lazy circles across my chest. “You’re going to need the caffeine today.”

“Yeah? What’s on our agenda?”

“We docked in Luxor about an hour ago, so if I was you, I’d spent this morning visiting Karnak and Luxor Temple.”

“If you were me?” I asked. “What are you going to be doing?”

“Oh, Zara and I are going shopping while you two nerd out. Trust me, this place is nerd heaven. You and Joseph can wander around, stare lovingly at columns or whatever it is you do when you flirt with architecture, but we’re hitting the markets.”
