“Is it the fangs?”
“Maybe?”
He laughed, there on his knees, eye-level with my uh . . . dick. I felt that laugh everywhere that had nerve endings, and a few places that didn’t.
“Look, it’s not in my best interests to bite it off,” he said. “Does that make you feel better?”
“Not really,” I laughed.
“Owen.” He looked up, and his eyes turned serious. “You’re the most precious thing in my life right now. I’m not going to risk that by doing something stupid to you.”
And heck. The fear and overthinking drained right out of me. Because I believed him. He actually cared.
He hooked his fingers in my waistband and drew everything down slowly, boxers and all, and the cool air of the room hit me, then his soft breaths, then his mouth. Warm, and wet, and . . . Oh, right there . . .
I’d thought about this. ’Course I had. I’d thought about it on the drive home and in the shower and lying in the dark staring at my busted blinds, told myself to quit at two a.m. when he’d been texting me . . . then thought about it some more. None of that had prepared me for Theo’s mouth actually on my dick.
He took me in, tongue working slowly up the underside, and the sharp bracketing of his fangs . . . Those two cool points of pressure rested feather-light against me, a hair’s breadth away from being the worst idea I’d ever had.
This was how I died, either from going out of my mind with lust or having my dick bitten off by a post-transition vampire. I’d take the risk.
It should have terrified me. Instead, it lit me up. Danger. Thrill. Fear. Adrenaline. I wanted this, wanted him, wanted his mouth on my dick and his fangs in there too, because secretly, I needed the thrill of it.
But more than that, he was being careful. With me. This loud, sassy disaster who put everything on the internet, who hadn’t done one quiet thing the whole time I’d known him, had gone down on me gently. The danger of it was half of what was undoing me. The trust was the other half. And I had no idea what to do with either.
I thrust my hands into his hair, keeping him where I needed him. “Holy heck.” My voice came out wrecked. “That’s. Okay. Yeah.”
He hummed around me, which was its own kind of evil. I grabbed for the windowsill behind me, missed and got a fistful of blind instead, making the whole thing clatter.
He moved slowly, tongue working, lips sliding, and I was gone, lost to the cruel delight he was giving me in smooth, slow pulls.
I’d spent the last few months being small. Head down, mouth shut, don’t get involved, don’t get noticed, be good Owen, be invisible Owen, be the guy who cleans the pool and scoops out leaves. And Theo Witherborne was on his knees in front of a window with the whole world thumping away beneath us, taking me apart like I was the only thing in the building worth his time, and for the first time in longer than I wanted to count, I felt big. Seen. Like I could take up the whole room instead of apologizing for standing in the corner of it.
I’d missed this.
He was driving me out of my mind and setting me loose, both at once.
“You taste like sin, bad boy,” he said, pulling off just enough to talk, lick his lips, and give me those big dark eyes.
“Vampires don’t get to file complaints.”
“Not complaining.” He grabbed my hip with one hand, the other wrapped around my dick. “I just haven’t sucked dick like yours for a while.”
Wow. Was my dick weird? “I will leave.”
He chuckled. “No you won’t.”
I didn’t leave. I threaded my fingers into his messy dark hair again instead, careful not to push, just to hold, and he took me back in deeper. Electric fizzles danced up my spine, and I lost the thread of whatever smart thing I’d been thinking.
My head dropped back against the wall. My whole body had gone tight and humming, that low pull starting up at the base of my spine, and I heard myself say, “I haven’t wanted anything this badly since before I got locked up.”
I hadn’t meant to say it out loud.
I’d said it, though. To the ceiling. Classic me.
Theo eased off and looked up, mouth wet, eyes dark and glassy. “Yeah?”
“Forget I said that.”
