“This is your dad?” I asked Dallas.

She answered yes and all I could do was laugh. All this time her dad was Keanu, and his wife was Ms. Toll aka Arabia. That’s why I had a ick feeling about Dallas. She was attached to people that I could do without in my life. Keanu went and sat at the edge of that table. The cook came in and put our dinner on the table.

“I have to know how and when you two got together.” Keanu wanted to know.

“We don’t need to get into that again. Just know they are good friends.” Arabia poured her some wine and looked annoyed.

“I’d like to know how you know him.” Dallas asked her dad.

“I’ve done business with him and his brothers. That’s all you need to know.”

He talked and I could feel Arabia looking at me. Then that smell, the smell I have not had in my nostrils for almost four years came to me. Burberry Brit and cigarettes.

“I just remembered that you are a triplet. How are your brothers?” She questioned.

I swallowed the steak in my mouth and answered. “Greek and Golden are doing good. You know what’s ironic, I was just talking to them about you.”

Her face lit up when I admitted that. “Really! It’s good that I made an impact.”

“That you did. They laughed when I told them how you had a piacular smell. Burberry Britt and those cigarettes you used to smoke.”

Arabia’s expression dropped.

“That funny that you’ve been wearing that same perfume to this day. I’m glad you stopped that smoking shit last year.” Keanu shared.

“Seems like the wrong sister got cancer.” Dallas shot out.

“Do not ever say that again Dallas.” Keanu started checking on his daughter.

My eyes glanced up at Arabia, and she was looking at me like I was the steak on her plate. The shit was sickening and I had to step away.

“Where’s the bathroom?” I asked.

Keanu told me it was down the hall, first door on the right. When I got up, I heard him and Dallas going back and forth. I got to the bathroom, closed the door, and turned the cold water on. I needed some on my face and my breathing regulated correctly. This entire family was trash and I was conflicted.

It never came across my mind to locate Arabia. Now that she was in my face I wanted her dead. For all the time I stayed up at night, couldn’t erase her smell, and had many conflictions about who I was. But if I kill her then I’d have to kill Keanu and Dallas. I put my hand under the cold water again and was about to put it on my face. But my phone went off.

“Greek, everything good?” I answered.

“I’m hoping so brother. I have you on speaker phone, Golden and Blake right here with me. We in my ride still parked in the casino parking construction. Blake was talking to us, and she dropped some shit you need to hear. We are in the car just in case you need us.

I kept the water going and told them to hurry up because I was in the middle of something.

“Siren called me ten minutes ago and said she couldn’t reach Story. I told her she was busy, but Hendrix said he texted her too and she did not answer. I stepped out of the loud room so I could talk to Siren. Golden followed me and good thing he did because Siren mentioned a dude Story was messing with. She said his name was Keanu.”

The room started coming in and out of focus and I stopped berating for a minute.

“Bro, we don’t know what’s all going on but we are not telling Uncle Thaddeus or auntie---

“Listen to me y’all. I’m at Keanu’s crib now.” I spoke through my gritted teeth.

All three of them talked at the same time.

“Shut the fuck up and listen.” I whispered in anger. My fist was balled so tight I thought my hand would break. “Dallas asked me to come to this dinner with her people so they would think she had a boyfriend.

Turns out her dad is Keanu and her step mama is…that part don’t matter. Look, I gotta get back. If Siren and Hendrix say Story isn’t home, then track her phone and let me know the last location. I’m about to text y’all my location. Get the fuck here now because all this smells funky.”

I looked at myself in the mirror and saw how I looked like a demon ready to swallow a fresh soul. All of this was about to come to a boil if my boo is missing. I hung up, turned the water off then opened the bathroom door.
