Prologue

Idone dated all types of men in my life. Some good niggas, some niggas I had no business even giving my attention to. But one thing about me? I always walked away with my heart intact.

I was never the type of bitch to lose myself behind no nigga. If I peeped a nigga was on bullshit, I got the fuck with no questions asked. Block the number and keep it pushing .

That was how I moved until I met this nigga named Rosama.

Rosama was dark-skinned, tall, and tatted up. I know that sounds like an average ass nigga from anywhere in this world, but baby, let me tell you, that nigga was DIFFERENT.

That nigga was smooth. Like real smooth. The type of nigga who knew exactly what to say and how to say it, and exactly when to say it. He was real. He was a stepper, and he carried himself like the city knew his name.

And it did. That nigga had all the power in Brooklyn.

But at the same damn time...

That nigga was a DAWG!

A whole fuckin’ dawg.

And the crazy part about this whole shit?

I knew it.

I fuckin’ knew it before I even let him get close to me.

I heard the stories about him. I saw the signs, and I damn sure wasn’t dumb.

I would look into those two different-colored eyes, and somehow, a bitch was submissive and lost every piece of common sense I was raised with.

I can’t even lie. I let that man come into my life and fuck it up. Playas fuck up sometimes, but the worst part was…

I loved that dawg ass nigga.

I know the shit sounds crazy, but to understand why I love him, I gotta take you back to the beginning.

Rosama was a different type of nigga that I let break my heart more times than I should have, but I heard when you first get a dawg—a stray off the streets…

You have to tame ‘em.

Chapter 1

Nylah

“Iknow this nigga hears his phone ringing,” I mumbled under my breath while trying to sew an arm sleeve to a dress.

I was barely halfway through putting this dress together for a project I had for school, and every time I tried to focus, one of Kyron’s phones would ring from the bedroom.

The shit finally stopped.

I smiled and put a few more stitches in while checking my design when…

Riiing…

I closed my eyes.

“Just ignore it, Nylah,” I said to myself.

It went silent again. I let out a deep breath, thankful for the peace. I went on measuring, cutting thread, checking my design, making sure I didn’t want to make any changes, then once again…
