“We ain’t beefing.”

“It feel like we beefing.”

“Nah. It is what it is. You go have your fun, I’ma have mine…but like I said, this arrangement ain’t gon’ work.”

“I don’t like that you keep saying that.” She sighed.

“Chill, Paisley. I’m not saying I’m putting you and the kids out on the street.”

She crossed her arms.

“I’m saying you staying here ain’t gon’ work anymore. So even if I gotta get you a little apartment and set you and the kids up for a little while so I can have my own space back, then that’s what I’ll do.”

“I don’t need you to get me an apartment.”

“Cool.” I shrugged.

“I can get my own.”

“Even better,” I countered, and smirked because I could see it was pissing her off by how red her face was turning. She was embarrassed, but I didn’t give a fuck. She made the decision to do the shit she did.

She sucked her teeth. “See, now you being an asshole.”

“Aye… leave me the fuck alone before I get mad for real.”

“PB.”

“I told you I ain’t in the mood for this conversation.”

She let out a long sigh and uncrossed her arms, standing there a second longer like she had something else she wanted to say. Then she turned and walked off.

I shook my head and pulled my phone out.

Opened my brother’s thread.

ME: bruh tell me why Pais just had her other BD in my shit

Them three dots came up quick.

OZY: Nah you lyin bruh

ME: nah I wish I was. walked in and found that nigga in my bedroom. almost killed his ass

OZY: Yeah you def gone have to move her outta yo’ shit. She got too fucking comfortable

ME: Shit, I already know big bruh

Before heading to my room, I checked on Summer. She was singing, dancing, and jumping around to some group I couldn’t even name.

“Hey, Daddy!” she said breathlessly when she noticed me and ran over.

I picked her up, kissed her cheek, then tickled her until she was cracking up.

“You had a good day with Mommy?”

She nodded. “Yeah! We went to get toys, and we were supposed to go to the park with Mr. Rah, but I don’t think we’re going anymore.”

My jaw clenched for a second, but I smiled. “Nah, not today, but Daddy’ll take you sometime this week. Aight?”
