“He accessed the final mission package nine hours before insertion.”
“Authorized access?”
“Yes.”
Sniper studied Stenson’s photograph. “Could still be him.”
“It could be any of them,” Rook said.
That was the problem.
Seven names.
Seven lives they would have to tear apart.
Somewhere inside those files was the person who had murdered their brothers.
Rook intended to find him.
Fathom printed the photographs and placed them in a row on the table.
Seven faces stared back at them.
Powerful people.
Protected people.
People who believed three missing SEALs were dead beneath a mountain.
Rook reached into his pocket and removed the silver sword coin.
He placed it beneath the photographs.
Sniper’s gaze dropped to it.
“You think the woman who gave you that knows which one did it?”
“She knows something.”
“She might be one of them.”
Rook had considered that possibility.
The woman had been on the mountain before the official recovery team. She had known they would be targeted inside the hospital. She knew Cutter would help them, and she had known where the funerals would take place.
She had access.
Connections.
Training.
Secrets.
But she had also saved their lives.
“If she wanted us dead,” Rook said, “she could have left us on that mountain.”
“Unless she needs us for something.”
