“That’s not a bunker,” he said. “It’s too large.”

More overlays appeared.

Buildings buried beneath the mountain.

Vehicle tunnels.

Power conduits.

An entire underground facility concealed by rock, ice, and military-grade camouflage.

Hidden beneath the same mountain where six of my brothers had died.

The exact same mountain where Wade Parker and his team had vanished five years earlier.

Cold settled into my chest.

Not grief.

Not rage.

Understanding.

Slow.

Terrible.

Absolute.

My eyes moved from the underground facility to Wade’s photograph.

Then to the six men on the memorial table.

Sarah’s father looked at me.

Neither of us wanted to say it first.

Finally, he nodded.

“Your team didn’t stumble into an ambush.”

No one moved.

The warehouse seemed smaller now.

Darker.

Colder.

“What are you saying?” Sarah asked.

Her father pointed at the facility.

“I’m saying Wade’s team found something five years ago.”

His finger shifted to our mission route.

“And Shadow Division was sent to the exact same location.”
