She turned her head with her lips poked out and I truly didn’t care. I was allowing her to have her way because of my wrong doings but speaking on a man that didn’t show his face not even once and giving him a title I earned was unacceptable. I’d be that cheating nigga she claimed I was, but I damn sure wasn’t letting her take my position in Akeera’s life away.

“Unlock my card so I can go please,” she said tight lipped.

I released her and she scurried to the closet to pack a bag. My daughter was staying put. She could leave and have the moment she was requesting. I wasn’t going to stop her because it was clear she needed to think things over, but Akeera’s life wasn’t going to be interrupted.

She walked out shortly after with a suitcase in tow. It bothered me that she wanted to walk away from our relationship because of my one mistake. Her neglect made it that much easier to take Sorimah down. I wasn’t blaming her for my actions because I was a grown man and took the risk. However, she wasn’t upholding her position either.

I removed my phone from my pocket and proceeded to unlock her card. I took out the majority of her funds leaving her with ten grand. As selfish as it sounded, I was only giving her a week to make her mind up.

“It’s done,” I said walking into the bathroom leaving her alone.

“Thank you. I’ll let you know within the next two weeks on what I’m going to do.”

“You got seven days. Make the best of it.”

With that, I shut the bathroom door and proceeded to unwind. Giving her a deadline when I was the one stepping out was wild, but I was doing what was necessary. I was far from arrogant but the lifestyle I provided her with was a lifestyle she couldn’t keep up if she walked away. She would be back within the next three to five days max.

Chapter Five

AVIANA

“He just blurted it out that he cheated? Girl please. I don’t believe that shit one bit.” I was at my best friend Jamilla’s house munching on some chips waiting for the food to be delivered. She was the first person I called to laugh about the shit that went down.

“I’m telling you he assumed I knew and started to apologize for it when I was talking about him cutting me out the funds. I kid you not he was damn near on his knees begging me not to go.”

Yeah, I was exaggerating, but JaJa didn’t know that. She wanted tea and as long as it was piping hot, she was satisfied. The bitch secretly loved that I was having problems. It showed that I didn’t have the perfect life.

I knew in my heart that Hendrix was on the verge of leaving but because I had that beautiful little girl, I knew I was secure in this relationship. He was so damn stupid behind that girl that he didn’t even realize how disconnected me and him were.

There was a time when I was in love with him because of everything he did for me and Akeera but that quickly faded once boredom set in. All he did was work and worry about my daughter. There was no time left for me and I refused to beg for it. I wasn’t that kind of bitch, so I went and got it elsewhere.

“I wish you would shut the fuck up lying all the damn time. You know good and doggone well he wasn’t begging you for a damn thing. He doesn’t even ask for your time as it is, I know he wasn’t begging you not to go.”

I could hear the jealousy and attitude on her tongue. She always wanted Hendrix and hated that I took him from her. We met Hendrix in the club one night and I was still in a relationship with my baby daddy, so the mission was to put him on JaJa. However, he found interest in me instead and she’d envied me ever since.

“You know I don’t lie when it comes to him. I have to make sure you know exactly what he does for and to me. It keeps you going,” I said gloating.

“So, what you doing over here because we both know you’re not going to leave him?”

“To make him sweat of course. What I look like accepting his bullshit without consequences? This is the first time he’s ever done wrong. Plus, what I look like letting another hoe take my spot.” The last comment was a shot toward her.

“I’m glad you know you’re a hoe. You got some nerve feeling any kind of way when you and Woods have been messing around for over a year.”

She couldn’t wait to mention that. I’d been doing me for quite some time now and hadn’t regretted a thing. While Hendrix wanted to work all day and then pay me no mind after, I was busy getting my world rocked by a man that catered to my body. The only difference between him and Hendrix were their bank accounts.

“Ain’t it the kettle calling the pot black. If I’m a hoe, I learned it from you. How’s Kenny?”

“I’m not doing this with you,” she snapped back.

“You started it. I came to vent, not to be judged by the bitch that’s supposed to be my best friend.”

She rolled her eyes as she shook her head from left to right. I genuinely loved JaJa, but she needed to stay in her place sometimes. I didn’t care about her wanting my nigga because he was a man that looked and smelled like money. It was evident for him to be wanted.

Where she always fucked up at, was voicing her unwanted opinion on shit I didn’t ask her about. She was my friend and I wanted her to speak freely but she also knew when to shut the fuck up talking to me. She was clearly trying to piss me off.

“Sorry. What do you plan on doing and how long are you going to be away from the house?” she inquired, changing the subject.

“I plan on going to Coppins to hang out with my man for a few days. He’s been wanting me to spend the night and give him more time, so this was perfect. As far as going back home, Hendrix only granted me seven days, so I’ll go back on day five or six with my ass tooted up. He has no choice but to kiss this fat muthafucka if he wants my daughter around. Plus, he only gave me ten thousand dollars and we both know I spend that on shoes.”
