His hands are rough on my knees, spreading them wide and pushing them down to the floor. His hips piston back and forth as I feel him fill me up; he retracts them, then slams forward, taking me again. The movement of him thrusting on top of me, grazing against my throbbing clit pushes me closer and closer and closer to the edge.
I reach up, caressing his cheek, damp from the exertion of fucking me, and he opens his eyes.
"Watch me, Kaine. Watch me come for you."
There's the furrowing of his brow as the words penetrate his mind and alight something in his own desire.
"Oh God, Jade, my beautiful Jade, where did you come from? What are you doing to me?” he murmurs each word, punctuated with the slamming of his hips into me.
"Kaine. Honey, I'm going to come."
“Me too, angel, me too,” his ragged voice tells me.
There's a loud crack somewhere, maybe just inside my head, then I feel his mouth on my neck and his whole body jerking on top of me, my own pleasure almost painful, rocking through my whole body. My nails dig into his back, scrunching fistfuls of fabric, as I arch against him, crushing every molecule of space between us.
"Fuck." I hear him murmur over and over and over until there's no more breath left in either of us.
He lays on top of me for what seems like several orbits around the sun. When he finally stirs, pulling his weight off me, the imprint of his body stays. He props himself up on one elbow, looking down at me, tracing the line of my face with the tip of his finger.
“Hey,” I say, my mind empty of thoughts, my heart full of emotion.
“Hey.”
“Kaine?”
“Yes, angel?” he says, a fingertip tracing along my jawline.
“Can I have another finger sandwich now?”
There’s a crinkling in the corner of his eyes, just before he bursts into laughter.
“Anything for you, my little minx. Anything for you.”

The flight, or whatlittle is left of it, is smooth and uneventful. We land at Harrisonburg’s tiny airport and the flight attendant gives me a knowing wink when she comes out to prepare the exit stairs for us. Before I met Kaine, I might’ve felt embarrassed, but under his touch, I embrace the feminine, sensual side of myself.
He leads me out of the plane, letting me disembark down the stairs first. I take a long, deep breath as I descend, grabbing tight to the hand rail.
Waiting for Kaine at the bottom of the stairs, I break into a wide smile. The familiar scent of pine needles in the air conjures up images of my childhood. I love Manhattan, and I could never leave it now that I’ve settled there – it’s the city mate to my soul. But sometimes, home is just as much a measure of heart as much as it is soul.
And heart lies with family.
“You ready?” Kaine says, kissing my cheek and taking my hand in his.
“As I’ll ever be.”
