He smirked. “So are you. But come on,” he said and pulled me up. “Go. Get the lube. I need you inside me right now.”

He slapped my ass and stroked his cock as he watched me retreat to his room—well, Warren’s room—where I retrieved the lube—Warren’s lube—and returned to the living room.

“We should get our own lube. It feels wrong to use your brother’s—” I started, and he yanked me on top of him, gripping my jaw with one hand.

His tongue brushed slowly over his lip as he stared into my eyes and reached for the lube pump with his free hand.

“Less talk about my brother, more fucking please,” he groaned.

“You’re a bossy bottom, aren’t you?” I said.

“You have a problem with that?” he asked.

I smirked and shook my head. “Not a smidge,” I replied and squirted some lube on his fingers. He wasted no moment to press them against his hole and get himself all prepped for me.

“Shit. I forgot the condoms,” I said and started to get up when he pulled me back down.

“I can taste you down my throat. You think we need condoms?”

I started to object, but there was nothing more to say. He did have a point. Which was why I knelt in front of him and drove myself inside him.

Just like yesterday, he was so tight it was a miracle I didn’t come right there and then. But I wouldn’t last long. I could feel it. I might have come barely fifteen minutes ago, but this man was so hot I couldn’t not fill him with my seed.

He wrapped his legs around me and drove me inside him all the way to the root. He didn’t let go until he’d had his fill, but I wasn’t complaining. Being inside this man… Being with this man full stop. It was something out of this world.

When I lost Evan, I never thought I’d have anything like this ever again, that I’d never be able to enjoy another man’s company again, but here I was having the time of my life and so much more. Because it was impossible not to feel the “so much more” part when Wyatt was burning holes to my insides with his intense blue gaze and those rugged breaths.

I might not have known what this thing between us was, but he was so much more than just a lay. That much I knew.

TWENTY-THREE

ARI

The light penetrated through the window, burning the back of my eyelids and forcing me to turn away to the darker side.

With a yawn I switched sides, the events of the previous night flashing through my head like polaroids that hadn’t quite developed all the way, and still, they made me smile. I was fully expecting to find an empty bed beside me, like yesterday morning.

But he was there, eyes open, head propped up by his hand and watching me.

“You’re still here,” I muttered under my sleepy breath.

I wouldn’t have blamed him if he walked out again. If he’d run. Lots of men were far more comfortable doing things under the guise of darkness than they were sticking it out in the light of day.

“I am,” he said and smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. It was a sad smile. A thoughtful smile.

“What’s up? What’s wrong?” I asked.

I rubbed my eyes and sat up in bed while he stayed in position and looked up at me like a puppy dog that had been denied attention for far too long.

“I should go,” he said. “I shouldn’t be here.”

“Why do you think that?” I asked, trying to settle beside him, but my heart was pounding in my chest.

“Because I’m not the guy for you. You deserve better. I ruin everything I touch.” He looked down at the empty space between us.

I shook my head and reached out to cup his face and force him to look back at me. “You don’t. Why would you say that?”

He shrugged and blinked as if to avoid my gaze. “I ruined my last relationship. We were together for so long, but I was too scared to come out that I lost him.”
