"Why should you be sorry?" she asks curiously.

"I don't know if this kind of thing makes you uncomfortable."

She shakes her head. "You're fine. I know that if we kiss a certain way, it's going to affect you."

"And that's okay?" I try to think about anything that isn't her, particularly things that will make my cock less hard right now, but it's hard when her taste is still lingering on my tongue and I want nothing more than to kiss her again.

"Yes. I mean, it's okay with me if it's okay with you."

"I want to kiss you," I respond. "But maybe a little less intense to keep things at a manageable level." Though I'm not sure that's going to matter. It won't take much for my body to respond again.

"Less intense, got it."

"Good, because I have things back under control." I think.

She laughs. "You know I came here to play, right? Not to kiss you."

"I can leave."

She reaches out to touch my chest. "I don't want you to go."

I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her closer, anxious to kiss her again. She melts into my arms, responding with kisses of her own. Nothing can beat the feeling of having Lexi in my arms after years of missing her, and I intend to make the most of every moment.

Chapter 7

Lexi

I close my flat door behind me and lean against it, clutching my violin case against my chest. My lips still tingle, though I'm not sure if it's because of kissing Edur, or because he's colder than I am.

I touch my fingers to my lips. Maybe it doesn't matter. It'll feel the same when I next kiss him. The act is consuming my thoughts more than I expected it to, especially considering that he distracted me from my practice. Then again, I suppose I was using the time to think about him anyway, so it's not as if I've lost any of it. And kissing him was worth it.

Very worth it.

But also confusing. I didn't expect him to get turned on from a kiss because that's not what happens to me, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I enjoyed kissing him, but I don't want to end up making promises that I can't keep by doing so. But then again, what would happen if I did let it go further?

There's a part of me that's curious about more, but also scared.

One of the bedroom doors opens, and I startle when I see Marnie step out into the hall. She raises an eyebrow. "You okay?"

"Yes, fine." My voice is a little squeaky, which is annoying and gives me away completely.

"Mmhmm."

"I am," I promise.

"All right, so I'm going to go make a cup of tea. If you want to talk about it, I can make you one too." She gestures towards the kitchen.

"Tea would be good," I say, pushing away from the door.

Her gaze drops to my violin case. "I never realised that music practice was so exciting."

I can feel my cheeks grow warm, and I know that they're turning a deeper shade of green than before, making my reaction very obvious to my friend.

"I have to wonder if it's about a certain mate," she says as she makes her way through to the kitchen with me on her heels.

"Edur heard me playing," I admit.

She goes over to the kettle and fills it up. "Is this something that's a big deal?"
