“Mr. Rayhill and his agent, Cody Kirkland, are available to meet with you on Monday morning. Will that work for you?” Janice asked.

“Shit, yeah!” Charlie bit her bottom lip as Janice chuckled. “I mean, yes. I’m available Monday morning.”

“Fantastic. I’ll send along the specific meeting time and location in my email with the other details. There are a few forms for you to sign and return as well.”

“No problem.”

“Great. Welcome aboard, Miss Moyen.”

“Thank you.” Charlie stared at her phone screen for a good thirty seconds after Janice hung up then shot to her feet and danced around the living room. She probably looked as if she was having a seizure, but she didn’t give a fuck.

She’d be flying Austin Rayhill around in her chopper! Her bird would be in a major motion picture!

She had to tell Isabel. But not until she calmed the hell down. Everything she’d done to create her cool, unruffled image would be torn to shreds if she called Isabel right now. Charlie was the low-key, laid-back friend. She was the one whose excitement level rarely got beyond a three on a ten-point scale. Unless she was four-wheeling or snowmobiling.

Or flying movie stars through the clouds.

Charlie put a hand to her chest, willing her heart to quit its erratic pumping. She had to look at this as a job opportunity. Easy money she could throw at improving the ramp at her parents’ house so her mother wouldn’t fall to her death.

She used the bathroom because nerves had cycled that beer right through her system. She then splashed some cold water on her face. Back out in the living room, her phone pinged several times with all the details Janice was sending her.

This is really happening!

Squaring her shoulders, Charlie took several deep breaths and hit Isabel’s contact.

“Hey, best bestie,” Isabel said. “What’s up?”

“I got picked.”

“You got picked?” Isabel was quiet for a second then she roared, “You got picked! Oh my GOD, Charlie!” A noise that definitely sounded like squeeing rushed into Charlie’s ear and she hit the speaker icon so she could put the phone down. “Tell me everything!”

In five minutes, Charlie had gotten Isabel up-to-date. “I have a meeting with Austin and his agent on Monday morning.”

“This is incredible! I knew they’d pick you,” Isabel said, an ear-to-ear smile audible in her voice.

“How did you know that? It was probably random,” Charlie said. “Like they put all the names in a hat or something.” Yeah. That made more sense than Austin actually reading through all the entries and picking picking her.

And hadn’t he really picked her chopper? Not her.

Okay. She was coming down from the initial high now. Level-headed Charlie was returning. Isabel had squeed enough for the both of them.

“Who cares how you got picked, right?” Isabel let out another whoop. “You got picked. That’s what matters. You’re going to meet Austin Freakin’ Rayhill and have him in your helicopter.”

Was it wrong that Charlie’s mind immediately went to actually having him in her helicopter?

She shook her head. Sexy times didn’t happen in her bird. She drew the line there.

“You’d better at least bring me back an autograph,” Isabel demanded. “Besties get autographs.”

“Of course. You did, after all, force me to enter.”

“And aren’t you glad I did?”

“If I say yes, are you going to gloat?”

“Definitely.”

They both laughed then Charlie said, “Tell me you can blow off your fiancé for a few hours and come over here to watch an Austin Rayhill movie in celebration with me.” She didn’t like the pleading in her voice, but sometimes she was a girl and wanted her best friend to share in her joy.
