“Him and others, yes.” He says it so nonchalantly. I’m extremely grateful he’s not making fun of me for sounding so awestruck.

“And others. Of course. As in others I’ll probably faint at the first sight of because they are actors and actresses—a different sort of royalty in their own right.” I roll my eyes. “You dropped this on me without any warning. This is crazy. I mean. When? How? I need—”

“You’re adorable when you’re flustered.” He leans in and brushes a kiss to my lips. Gentle and soft. That turns into our tongues dancing against one another’s in a quiet sigh of a kiss that is so tender you can feel the goosebumps chase over your skin.

I want to sink into him. The feel of him. The warmth of him. The everything of him.

It’s so easy to. He makes it that way.

When the kiss ends, he rests his forehead against mine, keeping his hands on my face, and I can feel his lips turn up into a smile against mine. “If we don’t stop here, my towel might fall off and you’ll have to take advantage of me.”

Will the wanting him ever stop? The need for him? The turning to look at him only to get that twist in the pit of my stomach that starts the ache all over again?

“That’s a task I’m pretty sure I can handle,” I say and cup him through his towel.

He moans into my mouth and I take the invitation to slip my tongue between his lips again. I kiss him as I snake my way beneath the towel to where he’s already hard and ready beneath.

The doorbell has us both groaning. “They can come back later.”

His laugh rumbles through me. “As much as I wholeheartedly agree with that line of thinking, this interruption is on me.”

I step back, his cock still in my hand. “What do you mean?”

“Go answer the door. It’s for you. I’m not exactly suitable for door answering right now.” He grins as he looks down at his cock.

“Wasted opportunities make me so sad.” I pretend pout.

“I promise I’ll make this one up to you later.” He presses a chaste kiss to my lips and then pats my ass. “Now go.”

I all but float to the front door. How is this my life? I’m in Monaco. I have an incredibly sexy man who can’t keep his hands off me. My job is going well—Kevin’s feedback of my market analysis was high praise and surprise at my thoroughness and attention to detail. Then again, it’s always been there, I just haven’t always reported to him, like I am right now. Regardless, his praise of my actual work, and of this pretend work, has had me on cloud nine the past two days. I mean—

“Hi?” I say cautiously when I see a team of people all dressed in black facing me.

“Hi,” the man standing in front says. His shorn hair is bleached platinum blond, a ration of rings decorates his fingers, and he has eyeliner around his pale blue eyes. He holds his hand out for me to shake. “I’m Jacque and we are your glam squad for tonight.”

“Tonight?” I ask.

“Oh yeah,” Cruz says over my shoulder. “Did I forget to tell you the gala was tonight?”

“What?” I whip my head toward him and his smirk as he stands in the middle of his condo in a pair of track pants, shirtless, and hair still wet. The crew of people move in without me saying another word.

Cruz shrugs. “I figured the more time I gave you to freak out, the more you’d freak out. So . . . I thought a surprise attack would be the best bet.”

My grin is one of disbelief. “You are . . .” I shake my head.

“Handsome. Incredible. The fucking best. I mean, I’ll take any of those and a bunch more but some of them”—he winks—“might make our company blush.” He walks past me and brushes a kiss to my lips. “Have fun.”

“Where are you going?”

“I’ll work in the simulator for a bit. Have some paperwork Kevin sent over about Revive to look at. A nap?”

I stare at his ass as he cruises down the hallway toward the extra bedroom, and I repeat the question of the day—or rather of the last five weeks—how is this my life?

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

Maddix

This is a fairy tale when I’ve never believed in them.
