Victor placed a finger over my lips, stopping me. “Little Spark, if you expect me to hear a word that comes out of your mouth, I’m going to need you to put clothes on. I have only so much willpower with you standing there, naked and ripe for eating, with your hair wild and cheeks flush.”

“Here,” Sorin said, stepping up and offering me a bundle. “It’s clean clothes from Branko.”

It was then I noticed all of them dressed in normal civilian clothes or jeans and t-shirts. Looking down at what I’d been given, I frowned, seeing it was shorts and a tank top. While it wouldn’t be my first choice, it would be nice not to have to wear my uniform. With my time in the Northern outpost, I’d learned not to wear anything that was too tight or revealing without drawing attention. Once I lost weight and my curves, it wasn’t as bad, but in the beginning, it was awful. I use my own undergarments even though the new clothes fit well enough, and I was even given a pair of sneakers.

“This better?” I asked, hands on my hips, looking at the others.

Toma shook his head as Petru looked at me critically. Lucian had seen me in outfits like this previously, since it was one of the only ways to make it through the summer heat.

“Nope, I’m definitely going to kill someone if I catch them looking at her,” Victor muttered, rubbing a hand over his face.

I looked down at the clothes and didn’t see the issue. The shorts covered my ass even if the cut left them low on my hips. The tank top fit perfectly, yet it wasn’t exactly baggy. So it showed off the slight curves I’d started to gain back, only to lose with the training.

“I’m not seeing it, guys, nothing is too tight or too low, and the shorts fit well too. What am I missing?” I questioned.

Sorin walked up to me and caught my chin in his grip, forcing me to meet his gaze. “You’re missing the fact that you’re our Omega. One that happens to be incredibly attractive, especially in clothes like this that show off all the definition you’ve gained through training. You might not have put on all the weight you need to, but you do have curves in all the right places. This outfit shows off everything sexy about you, and we’d rather greedily keep that to ourselves.”

“Oh…” I commented, not having even thought to consider things from their point of view. “I don’t have anything to wear, though. The spare uniform desperately needs to be washed, and the clothes I was wearing yesterday are probably still in a heap on the floor in the bathroom.”

“Actually you don’t have either of those. They took our clothes to wash when giving us these to wear,” Cris explained. “So there is no other option but for you to wear that because naked is not an option. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that no one does something to make Victor kill anyone.”

“Yeah… that is not a great plan, but it’s the best we can do,” Toma muttered, then held out his hand to me. “Come over here, Dani, we saved food for you since you slept through dinner and breakfast. Guess Cris really wore you out.”

My cheeks flushed as I remembered what had happened in the bathroom between the four of us. It was fucking hot and just thinking about it had me needing to rub my legs together. While I would be all for another round of playtime with my guys, now wasn’t the time since we could get called to speak with the council at any moment. Toma guided me to a space at the far end of the building where a table with ten chairs was set up. A tray of food, or at least I believe that’s what it was since it’d been covered and left on the table.

Tugging the cloth off the top, I found a sandwich and roasted vegetables waiting for me. My stomach growled with excitement as I sat down. The sandwich was huge with lots of filling that made my mouth water uncontrollably. While I stuffed my face like a heathen, the guys sat at the table, keeping me company as they talked strategy. Weighing the pros and cons of what would go down if the rebels were willing to help us or not.

“We need to at least talk about it if they tell us no,” Petru reasoned. “It would be foolish of us to assume just because we have a great plan and the next generation of leaders on our side that we’ll get their help.”

“True, but if we don’t stop the war, no one else will,” Victor countered. “Once we regain our privileges, we’ll leave and do just what we planned.”

“What if it takes years for them to do that? Who knows what will become of the agreement with Oscad. If they think we’re dead or decided against the whole thing, convincing them to give us a second chance will be even harder,” Petru pressed.

This caused Victor to stand and slam his hands on the table. “So what? Do you just expect us to accept the fact that we failed and live a peaceful life here in the mountains hiding away from the real problem?”

“Sit the hell down,” Sorin cut in, motioning to Victor, who returned to his seat. “He’s not saying anything we haven’t all thought of already. If the council says no to us, then, yeah, we’re going to have to accept the fact that this place will be our home for the foreseeable future. However, in the time we’re forced to spend here, we could convince them to work with us and Oscad. Don’t be so black-and-white about this. There are always two ways to tackle a situation. Right now, you’re choosing to see it as an all-or-nothing when that isn’t the case.”

Victor brushed a hand over his beard, which had gotten longer and thicker since we’ve been gone. “I know we knew the risks when doing this, but being faced with the reality of it is a whole other matter. I’m sorry, Tru. I lost my temper and you didn’t deserve that.”

Before Petru could respond, there was a knock at the door. A moment later, the door was unlocked and Branko entered. “The council would only like to speak with Lucian, Sorin, and Danella. The rest of you will need to wait here until I come back for you, or these three return.”

“Why?” I demanded.

“I’m sorry, Dani, but this is how they would like to move forward with the meeting,” Branko apologized, his tone sounding slightly defeated. “I did try, but they felt it would be best to speak with those that will have the answers they need, and that was you three.”

Slowly I pushed my chair back and stood with the other two following suit. Taking a second, I impulsively kissed the four staying behind. “I love you all. We’ll be back soon.”

Taking Lucian and Sorin’s hands, needing them to ground me, we left the building and headed across the way to the town hall. This was it, the one chance we got to convince them we could do this and change the world for the better.
