“You two come with us. The rest of you sit in the chairs in this order. We will come and call you back, two at a time, when we are ready,” Creepy Beard instructed.

Pushing through a set of swinging double doors, we entered an exam room. It was basic, with two exam tables for us to climb up on, a long counter that had drawers and cabinets, and two rolling chairs for the doctors to use.

“Please strip down to your undergarments and take a seat on the exam tables,” Glasses ordered.

I looked over at Samantha and was greeted with a look of terror that I’m sure matched my own. We’d had medical exams before. It was standard once a year, sometimes twice if there were any issues. I’d been one of the lucky ones who had to go twice a year since I had yet to experience my first heat. There were some late bloomers, if you will, but never past the age of twenty-one. Yet every time I was examined, there was no medical reason it should be happening.

“Do it now,” Creepy Beard barked, making both of us jump and whine at the Alpha order.

An Alpha bark to an Omega was like a slap to the face. Instinctively our need to please and follow the Alphas' wishes was set into overdrive when an Alpha bark was given. Instantly Samantha was undoing her skirt, but I gritted my teeth fighting against the need to do as I was told until I physically couldn’t anymore. I’d rarely experienced a bark yet the rage that flooded my body when it was used somehow lessened the power of it. Not enough to disregard it, but enough to refrain from automatically giving in.

With a soft growl of irritation, I started to unbutton my shirt—as slowly as possible. I was doing as requested, but I wasn’t going above and beyond. Of course, they made sure the doctors, or at least one of them, was an Alpha to ensure they could control us. It wouldn’t do for a military country such as Asturg to have unruly breeders. Fuck, I hated that word so much.

Taking my time to neatly fold all my clothes and set them off to the side, I then sat on the exam table. It was cold, uncomfortable, and the look on Creepy Beard's face when he skimmed his eyes over me made me want to vomit. Not to mention this close, I could catch his scent. It was an overpowering aroma of vinegar with a bite of pepper, making me crinkle my nose in distaste. In all our education, we were told that the scent of an Alpha who would have the highest chance of breeding successfully with an Omega had to have an appealing scent. It was obvious to me that this crusty old Alpha wouldn’t be getting it up anytime soon.

He tucked the stethoscope in his ears and listened to my heart and lungs. This was standard, and I knew what was expected. Then came a blood pressure check and looking in my nose, ears, and at my eyes.

“Do you need to wear glasses?” he asked.

“Wouldn’t I be wearing them if I did?” I retorted before I could even think about what I was saying.

Creepy Beard narrowed his eyes at me. “I’ll give you one warning, breeder. You’re not in Oscad anymore. Here we don’t tolerate those of lower stations talking back when asked a yes or no question. Do it again, and you’ll quickly learn the punishments used around here.”

When I had nothing to say about his threat or didn’t appear at all daunted by it, I saw his jaw muscle twitch. Yeah, sorry, asshole, I have that effect on people I don’t like.

“Now, I’ll ask you again, do you wear glasses?” Creepy Beard repeated slower than before, like I was stupid or something.

“What were my choices again? Oh, right, yes or no,” I muttered to myself. “Do I wear glasses? No, I'm pretty sure I don’t.”

A hand whipped out and connected with my cheek so hard that it had my head jerking to the side and I could taste blood in my mouth. Seems my own teeth had cut the inside of my cheek with the force of the blow.

“I warned you,” he snarled. “Keep that shit up, and breeder or not, we’ll put you on the front line with no weapon. You’ll last all of three seconds before you’re riddled with bullets.”

“Somehow, I doubt that threat is real. You’re in need of Omegas so desperately that you have them shipped in from another country. There’s no way your leader would let you do something so stupid as to kill one of us like that,” I challenged.

Glasses stepped away from Samantha and grabbed Creepy Beard’s arm. “I’ll finish up with her. You do the last part of the exam on the other.”

Creepy yanked out of his hold and glared at me before walking over to Samantha and snapping the curtain closed between the exam tables.

“Open,” Glasses ordered, gesturing to my mouth.

I did as he asked, letting him use the tongue depressor to check the bleeding cheek. When he was finished, he just gave a nod, and I closed my mouth. Moving around me, he poked here and there, checking a few things before pressing me to lie on my back. I heard a bottle being squirted, but I didn’t really think anything of it until he pulled aside my underwear. Shooting up into a sitting position, I yanked my knees close to my body, cracking him in the jaw as I did so.

“Mother fucker,” Glasses swore as his glasses clattered to the floor.

Creepy was back shoving the curtain out of his way. “What the hell is going on here?”

He spotted his fellow doctor clearly in pain and searching for his glasses on the floor. “You little bitch, you attacked him, didn’t you? Now I can see why Oscad was so keen to get rid of such a feral Omega. They're too soft to handle the likes of you, but here in Asturg, we know just what to do.”

Before I could fight back, Creepy grabbed my arm and yanked me off the table, slamming my body to the floor. Tile wasn’t a forgiving substance in any way shape or form, so when my head bounced off of it, I had a moment to see them coming at me with a syringe before I lost consciousness.

Groaning, I lifted a hand to touch my head that felt like someone had dropped a car on it. Only something prevented me from being able to do that. Cracking open an eye, I started to panic when I couldn’t see anything. Had I lost my eyesight? What had they done to me? My panic eased when I saw a faint outline of what might be a door. The room I was in had no windows, or it was still possibly nighttime.

Carefully I shifted and realized I had been propped up against a wall and my right arm seemed to be shackled while my left was free. Gingerly I felt along my head and hissed when I found the lump on the back side of my head where it hit the floor. Fuck those assholes. How dare they think they can just stick their fingers wherever they like? Not even at the Care Center has a male ever ventured near my vagina.

Wait? Is that what they were going to do to all of us? Violet? Tori? Fuck, why can’t I ever think before I act? Now I’m locked up here when I could be figuring out how to get us the hell out of here.

My mental tirade was cut short as the door opened, and the room was flooded with light. Room might have been a little too strong of a word, it was more like a closet now that I could see how large it was.
