“Put Shiny down so I can put some clothes on her,” Grieth insisted.
Instantly, I tucked her against my chest, turning away from the raven. “You just want to keep her for yourself.”
“So you would leave your mate naked and vulnerable?” Grieth countered.
Even though his face was a skull and there wasn’t a facial expression, I knew the bastard had a smug look. There was no way I could argue with that logic. Begrudgingly, I placed my mate down on her delicate feet. How she could walk around with nothing covering them made me curious. Everything about her seemed so fragile and perfect, even if much of her stature resembled the humans.
I could see the monster in her though. The dainty claws on her fingertips, the sharpness of her silver eyes that seemed to miss nothing. How her teeth were just that much sharper looking than humans, and of course, the power that now radiated off her. If anyone missed that then they were a dumb, deaf human, and should be removed from this land like the scourge they were.
“Shiny, if you have something specific that you would like to wear just picture it in your mind as I work this spell over you,” Grieth instructed.
Now that the thieving bastard was at full power, I knew that if we ever truly fought against each other I wasn’t sure who would win. Seems our new queen was drawing all the powerful monsters to her side. Could it be that there might be a battle brewing? If there was, she’d have me ready to fight standing right by her side, as a good mate should.

While I would never admit this out loud, I didn’t want to leave the warmth of Rhun’s arms. It was like having your own personal heater that was furry and snuggly. Being held by such a fearsome looking monster, who I knew if I wasn’t connected to on some level would have burned me alive with a single touch, had me questioning my sanity. Yet there I was, yearning to be cradled in his arms as the deep rumbling purr rattled through his body. Oddly, it showed me how much I craved physical touch, but this was different than any I’d experienced before. Rhun wanted nothing from me at that moment other than to be warmed by his body.
The flicker of excitement that trilled through my body at the thought of his large hands on me had me snuggling into him. Images of what it would feel like to have that kind of danger and power mixed together as he bent me over and fucked me had me warming in a completely different way. It didn’t help that he slid me down his body before my feet touched the chill ground, shocking me back to reality.
“Shiny,” Imp called, waving a hand in front of my space. “Shiny, I need you to focus or this isn’t going to work.”
“What?” I asked, meeting his red eyes.
Imp stepped up until my chest bumped against his, then he lowered his head so his smooth bone beak held me tightly against him. His feathered cloak appeared and shrouded his body and mine inside it. His claws trailed over my skin, making me gasp as one sharp tip caught my nipple.
“Do I have your full attention now, Shiny?” Imp whispered in my ear. “The guardian isn’t the only one with skilled fingers, you know. Who better to unlock your greatest desires than a thief?”
I let out a breathy laugh as the back of a curved claw slipped between my legs and glided across my clit then back up again, making me pant like a bitch in heat.
“Just to prove to you that I can provide for that need as well, my beloved Shiny,” Imp said as he used his beak to tug at my hair gently. “Now I need to get clothes on you before things get carried away. This is no place for any of us to give you the pleasure you so rightly deserve.”
Clearing my throat, I shook out my hands trying to get my mind to focus on the task and not my weeping pussy, who felt utterly teased and denied. “Tell me what I need to do again.”
“I’m going to use my magic to make you clothes like I did the dress you found in the room. With that one, I guessed what you might feel comfortable in, but this time picture what you want in your mind and it will happen,” Imp instructed.
Licking my lips, it took me far longer than it should have to decide on what I wanted to wear. Almost my whole life I hadn’t had any choice, my owners picked everything out for me. Then I remembered what the queen was wearing and thought it might be the style of this country.
Holding that image in my mind I let out a breath and gave Imp a nod. “I’ve got it.”
The queen had been wearing tight leather pants and sturdy black boots that laced up to her knees. Then she’d been wearing a cross between a coat and a dress that was long sleeved, high on the neck, and fell to her calves. There were two slits in the front that came up to her hips, allowing for free and easy movement as she approached me. The jacket was in a rich black material that was velvety looking and had texture to it. Everything about the outfit seemed comfortable, warm, and realistic for traipsing around in a monster infested forest.
When the spell was done, Imp stepped back to reveal me to the others. I looked down at myself and grinned, seeing it was just as I pictured. “Imp, that is a wonderful skill that you have,” I praised and pressed a quick kiss to his beak. “Thank you for looking after me.”
The raven puffed up, his eyes glittering with the praise and a happy chittering sound came out of him. “I told you I was a good provider, Shiny. With the three of us to look after you, there is no reason for any more to be added,” he pointed out. “More would make this messy, and more would end up dead.”
I couldn’t help but snort at that, since this seemed to be Imp’s solution to everything. Although I suppose he had a point, if it was dead then it wasn’t really a problem anymore, was it?
“Let us head back to Grieth’s nest, we can talk some more and possibly come up with a plan,” Hisceas suggested as he headed back into the forest.
Frowning, I jogged after him, even at his shortest height he had an incredibly long stride. “A plan for what?”
“For you to eradicate the madness,” he answered like that should have been obvious.
“Ah…” was all I got out as I attempted to wrap my brain around what the hell he was talking about and keep up.
“I can’t do that,” I blurted, coming to a halt. “Hell, I didn’t even know I wasn’t human until yesterday. How exactly do you expect me to get rid of something that’s been happening for centuries? The queen told me she couldn’t do it herself because she didn’t have the power to pull it off. There’s no way I can if she couldn’t when all this just started.”
This had my three monsters looking at me with shocked expressions.
