Picasso rolled his eyes and shoved the man off the bed. “You could try, but I can’t guarantee you’ll have all your body parts if you do.”

“So cruel,” Cam gasped with mock hurt. “Seems I will be once more relegated to the air mattress.”

“You could sleep here if you don’t mind rolling around in everyone’s cum,” Dax pointed out with a smirk. “I find it to be rather enjoyable.”

Cam gave her a droll look. “If you were still going to be in this bed, then I might consider it. Otherwise, I feel like we might as well just get a whole new bed at this point. Not sure it can be saved. Silk is horrid material to get stains out of.”

We all laughed, hearing a bit of Dante in those words. “Come on, shortcake, let’s try and get some sleep. Seems we have a coup to organize.”

Sleep came quickly as the three of us flopped onto Picasso’s bed. Once I rolled onto my back with Dax using my chest as a pillow and Cognac’s head on her ass, we conked out. When I opened my eyes, the sun was well up into the sky, flooding the room with light.

It was the perfect spot for an artist, so it made sense why Picasso converted it.

Dax was sprawled over my chest, drool seeping out of the side of her mouth, but she was too cute to be mad at. I combed my fingers through her hair, surprised she’d gone so long without cutting or coloring it. It fell just past her shoulders and normally, it was shorter with lots of choppy layers that gave her that grungy look. Personally, I had no feelings about how she wore it. Whatever made her happy was fine by me.

Maybe it would be a good idea for her, Tilly, and Dani to go have a girls’ day or something. I knew she’d be doing the fight when we got to New York, so getting her nails done wouldn’t be that big of a deal. I just knew she cut it short so people didn’t have much to grab on to when they attacked her. Not that it happened much these days, most people knew better than to piss her off.

She stirred under my touch, humming as her hand pulled me closer to her. Smiling, I just enjoyed the moment of her being so vulnerable and not weighed down by all that was happening. This had to come to an end. Once we dealt with Diego, it would be time to hunt down Marco. Cam and I talked a bit about that part of this, knowing he had far more information with his connection to the FBI. Hell, I didn’t even know if I should have been looking out for the guy in the first place. Marco was like the monster under your bed you heard people talk about but didn’t really believe would be there. Then one night, he reaches out and grabs your ankle, making his presence known.

“Hey,” Dax whispered, followed by soft kisses pressed to my skin. “What has you making that face?”

Frowning, I looked down at her. “What face?”

“That one,” she said, poking my forehead. “It's the one you make when you realize you might have missed something that could put me in danger.”

“Oh really,” I murmured, cocking an eyebrow as I stroked my hand over her hair again. “I have a face just for that situation?”

“Yup,” she commented, popping the P. “It’s been happening a lot more lately, but it’s one I’ve seen over the years. Took me a bit to figure out, but when I put the situations together, it made sense.”

“Hmph,” I grunted, not at all surprised she could read me so well. After how long we’d been around each other, you learned their tells. “So, when are you going to tell them you’re not really going to marry them?”

Dax shifted so now her arms were folded over my chest, and she could rest her head on them. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“The government won’t let you marry them all,” I reminded her.

“Well, duh,” she said with a snort. “There are other things you can do that mean the same thing.”

“True, but you, missy, aren’t going to do the white dress, walk down the aisle, toss the bouquet type thing,” I teased, booping her nose. “You said yes to being our wife in name and commitment, but there won’t be paperwork stating that fact in a legal government database.”

“Does that really matter?” she countered. “If you are my husbands, and I’m your wife, we combine all our resources, have legal documents giving power in each other’s lives, then what does it matter there isn’t paperwork that specifically states I married you all?”

“So you’re keeping your last name?” I asked.

She shrugged. “Yeah, if it means that much to you all, then take my last name. It’s way easier to just do things that way than to argue whose last time I would take.”

Cognac stirred next to Dax, popping his head up, bleary eyes trying to focus on our woman. “Fuck, I didn’t think about the last name thing.” He cocked his head, then grinned. “Juan Blackmore would sound pretty cool if you ask me. I dig it.”

Dax shifted to give him a quick deep kiss. “You would.” She giggled. “You think the others will put up a fuss?”

“Most of us, besides the brothers, don’t have family that’s living or we give a shit about,” Cognac pointed out. “It might take those two a bit to wrap their heads around the idea, but I don’t see them saying a hard no. Eagle might have more of an issue with the fact you don’t want a wedding.”

“What are you talking about? We had one last night,” Dax announced. “To me, that was perfect. Get a ring, get the guys, get fucked. What more could a woman ask for?”

This logic had me snorting as I tried to hold back my laughter. If that wasn’t the most Dax thing I’d ever heard out of her mouth, I don't know what it would be. “Oh fuck, I love you,” I murmured before kissing her cheek, then slapping her ass. “Come on, let's get up and get shit done. I have no doubt everyone else in this whole compound is hung over as fuck from last night. Good thing it’s Sunday, so no one has to go to work.”

The other two groaned and threw pillows at me as I crawled out of bed to the stairs. When I turned around, I noticed that Cognac got distracted and was sucking on one of Dax’s nipples as his hand drifted between her legs. When the hiss burst out of her mouth, it had us both snapping to attention.

“Okay, so I might be a bit sore,” she admitted. “That was a lot last night.”
