Distractions aside, when I took in his wide shoulders, and big, clawed hands, my body chilled a little more. How had he gotten stuck in my chimney? The force of that landing must have been quite something. He had to be an alien, and I couldn’t quite believe that was the most logical conclusion.
The antlers sprouting from the top of his head made that kind of hard to deny, and his skin… It was black, completely midnight black, but with lines running over it like cracked porcelain. Those lines glowed with a soft red, and that same color scheme was mirrored in the wild mane of hair that grew, much like a lion’s mane on his head. It was streaked with red in the deep black hair, and it looked so soft and luscious that I was tempted to reach out a hand and touch it.
His red eyes were open, even if they looked a little hazy with pain. He was looking right at me, so I refrained from actually reaching out and touching him. I still studied his features, struggling to come to terms with the heat that started curling low in my belly as I did so. Strong, masculine jaw, dark red lips that emphasized how soft they looked, and killer cheekbones. This guy might be an alien, but if so, he was smoking hot.
“Okay, so you are an alien,” I said with a dry mouth, “And you crashed into my chimney for some reason.” My eyes scanned down his body again, but I didn’t see any obvious injuries, he’d broken my fall for me, so he had to be bruised to hell and back. The thought struck me that he could have broken his spine or something, could I even move him? It wasn’t like I could call an ambulance… They wouldn’t be able to get out here anyway.
“Are you badly hurt? Can you walk? We should get inside and out of the cold…” I added. Then I started to wonder if I’d imagined that he could understand what I said, what if I was just talking nonsense to him? He was definitely an alien, no way could he understand what I was saying.
With a hand, he patted across his chest, then he reached up and gingerly touched the tip of one of the prongs of his antlers. To my dismay, I realized it had snapped off, was that what he’d been stuck with in the chimney?
Then his chest rumbled in low, deep tones, a dual note that blended in perfect sub-harmonics. I couldn’t understand what he’d just said, but it sure sounded lovely that deep bass. He heaved himself upright while still making those low noises, his hand rubbing at his broken antler while he was frowning. I hoped he wasn’t upset with me about that, it wasn’t like I’d purposely caused his antler to break.
Moving his legs, he rolled to his knees, then to his feet in an agile motion. That was only spoiled by the swaying right after, he was definitely a little dazed and unsteady. Then he surprised me by sticking out a hand, offering it to me as if he wanted to help me to my feet. I was too tempted by the desire to touch his warm skin, that I didn’t reject the offer. I figured I’d hold that big, clawed hand, but do all the work myself.
His fingers were warm and rough, his grip firm, and I was yanked to my feet so quickly that I didn’t expect it. Stumbling upright, I collided with his chest, air hissing out from my mouth in an ‘oomph’ noise. The alien made this deep sound that sounded suspiciously like a chuckle, and I pulled back to shoot him a glare. Startled by how pretty he was when he was grinning, and that’s when I noticed the sharpened canine teeth. This guy had freaking fangs.
He draped his heavy arm around my shoulders, turning my body towards the door of the cabin. Yes, inside, that was the plan. I still wasn’t sure if he could understand me now, but I was damn glad that he’d gotten to his feet. I didn’t fancy having to drag his heavy ass inside, I said as much out loud, testing if he could understand. That grin on his face went even wider, but we’d also just stepped onto the porch, and he was avidly staring at the big Christmas wreath hanging on the door.
Pulling open the large oak door my grandfather had made himself, I gestured for him to go inside, and he did, leaning one hand on the door jamb as he passed. Definitely a little unsteady, but he paused right inside, his red eyes wide as they darted left and right, sliding over the garlands hanging from the walls, the decorated Christmas tree in one corner.
“Uh, yeah, I went all out this year,” I said, feeling a tad embarrassed that someone was here to witness the Christmas extravagance I’d unpacked. He pointed at a particularly gaudy statue of a fat Santa in his red suit. He was sitting in his sleigh, with the whole arrangement of reindeer prancing in front. The whole statue barely fit on the side table, but my strange guest just kept on looking.
The inane thought struck me that he’d sound marvelous saying Santa-like things, he had that perfect deep bass for it. “Hey, can you say ho ho ho?” popped out of my mouth before I could stop myself. Embarrassed that I’d just asked that of my alien visitor, hello, way to make a good first impression, I turned around and pulled the door shut behind us.
“Ho ho ho,” he said, amusement tinging that voice. I spun back, eyes wide. He was smiling, head tilted at an angle as he studied me. At least this answered the question once and for all, he definitely understood what I said. That was crazy! Did he have some kind of translator technology? Didn’t they have that in popular Sci-fi movies and such?
“You can understand me!” I said, and he kept smiling, but he nodded too. I hoped that meant yes to him, but just to clarify I asked him to nod again if that meant yes. He did, so we had some means to communicate, good, I needed to get to the bottom of this.
I shrugged out of my thick winter coat and hung it by the door, taking off my snow-crusted boots and leaving them to dry on the rack. When I turned back to look at my strange guest, I noticed that he was hurriedly kicking off his own boots, and staring with a little concern at the mess of soggy snow prints he’d left on the wooden floor. “That’s okay, I’ll mop that up in a second. Why don’t you sit down?”
Only, his shirt and jacket were ash and snow stained, and his pants, much like mine, were crusted with snow from our fall. He looked at himself, then the couch, and shook his head, almost knocking his antlers into the lamp dangling from the ceiling. “Yeah, you’re right, on second thought… Why don’t I see if I can find some clothes that might fit you?”
I still had some boxes with my grandfather’s old things, mostly packed with knitted Christmas sweaters and such, I hoped I could find pants that worked. My grandfather hadn’t been a small guy, in his prime he’d looked like a bear, hairy as one too, but this alien guy… He was freaking huge.
The bedroom was freezing cold, even more so compared to the living area where I’d had a fire going earlier that day. I shrugged out of my wet things, peeling my thermal leggings from my body with some difficulty. The door to the room swung open just as I’d successfully freed myself, my visitor standing in the door opening, staring at me with his glowing red eyes wide open.
I made a silly, girly noise while I yanked the nearest blanket in front of my body and then couldn’t help but stare. He’d shed all his wet things and was holding them gingerly in a pile in front of him. Clad in little more than a black bit of fabric that clung lovingly to his package, I was treated to a display of incredible masculine beauty.
His body was rippling with muscle, defined over his pectorals and abs, his thighs were big as tree trunks, and his bare feet were very human-looking except for the sharp black claws that tipped the toes. He was alien because of the fine cracked porcelain look that ran over his black skin in softly glowing red lines and the muscled tail tipped with some kind of metal point lashing at his back. I was starting to find that tail less freaky, it was definitely growing on me.
“Oh…” I said, swallowing to force moisture back into my dry mouth. He had made a surprised noise too as if he hadn’t expected me to be in just a bra and undies when he walked in. I could see the heat swirling in those red eyes, see the evidence of some kind of arousal as his underwear didn’t hide what had to be an impressive erection. Fleetingly I wondered just how compatible we’d be.
“Uh…” I said next, real zinger that one. “Let me just put something on real quick, and then I’ll grab something for you. Leave your things by the door, I’ll put on a wash too.” He grinned, exposing his sharp teeth, nodded his head, and promptly banged his antlers into the door frame. With a wince, he rubbed at his skull, near the base of those black antlers, bending down to drop his clothing. He walked out, and while I ogled his tight butt, he hooked the doorknob with his tail and shut the door behind him.
Whew, that was intense and I didn’t even know his name. I wondered if I could even pronounce it if he told me, but I resolved to find out. I rushed with dressing, dug out the boxes labeled ‘clothes,’ and started emptying them on the bed. I was sure there had to be some clothes in there that would fit, somewhat. I needed to cover him up because he was lethal to my hormones.
Chapter 3
Ru’ol
This place was beautiful, it had to be some kind of holy place, a shrine? There were colorful lights everywhere, and a tree that smelled fresh and earthy was decorated in glittering silver and gold. Glimmering spheres hung from its branches and the branches that hung from the walls. With depictions of a fat human male with red clothing everywhere. I didn’t remember any of the humans I knew ever talking about a male with a red and white hat, but he looked important, maybe a god or something?
To say I was relieved I’d landed on a planet with at least one human on it was an understatement. I had their language in my translator’s database, so I could understand her, even if she didn’t seem to have my language. I’d have to try traders common next, but from the primitive looks of the building, I was starting to think that maybe she didn’t use much technology.
I’d made a mess of her floor, damaged the chimney with my fall, and then I’d rudely walked in on her while she’d been undressing. My blood heated again as I remembered the sight of her in just two scraps of black lace, her soft breasts emphasized by the lacy contraption she’d worn around her chest. All that milky white skin, the short, playful strands of her black hair, curves for miles… Yeah, I was discovering real quick that she was absolutely my type.
I had a ship to recover, an artifact to find, and then I had to figure out a way to get back to Strewn somehow. Surely, in between all of that, I could find some time to seduce my pretty rescuer, and we could have a bit of fun before I had to leave again.
