She looked at me with pleading eyes through her tears.

“It’s people like you, Miranda, and JacQues that make my job worth it. You wanna sell your pussy, go right ahead. But you don’t get to govern anyone else’s body.” I got close to her face. “You don’t get to take away anybody’s right to say no. For that, you have to die.”

She gave muffled screams as I carved the word “vengeance” into her arm. When I was done, I grabbed her by the throat and held her steady.

“This might hurt, but don’t worry, I’m gonna put you out of your misery.”

Her eyes widened as I rammed the machete into her sided and slowly drug it across, cutting her open.

“Shhhh… it’s almost over,” I whispered in her ear as I yanked it from her insides.

Her eyes fluttered as blood poured from her and onto the floor. Just before the last bit of life drained from her, I grabbed her hair and slid the machete across her throat from ear to ear, ending her for good.

Taking a step back, I admired my handiwork.

“You feeling better?” Titan asked.

“Slightly.”

I picked up a few tissues from the desk and wiped the blade of the knife off before tossing it back in the backpack.

“Come on. Leave her for him to find later.”

We pulled our masks back on and left the office to head downstairs. Our parents were waiting at the bottom with a group of five women who looked like they’d seen better days. Most of them were beaten and bruised. I looked at my father.

“These were some of the trafficked girls,” he explained.

“You checked?” I asked.

“Quaid ran their names in the database. All of them have been reported missing for six months or more.”

I nodded. “The Johns?”

“Dead,” my mother answered. “Sick fucks.”

“You’re safe now,” I said to the girls. “Nobody is gonna hurt you again. Mama, can you ride with Vinchi to drop them off at the police station?”

“I got you, baby. Come on, girls.”

The women all looked around, tears streaming down their faces.

“Thank you,” one whispered. “Thank you.”

My mother and Mrs. DeLuca led them out the back with my father-in-law trailing behind them.

“You good?” my father asked.

I shook my head. “I won’t be good until JacQues is dead. I left him a little present.”

He sighed. “Well, come on. Let’s get back to the house. I’m sure we have a lot to unpack when we get there.”

I nodded and walked ahead of him and Titan. Tonight was the first of several nights of mayhem to come. I just hoped JacQues was ready for the war he’d started.

My wife sighed as we pulled into the driveway of our home. I knew she was about to be on her good ol’ bullshit. I put the car in park and looked at her, waiting for her to get out. We’d just come from a birthday dinner for my daughter, but I still had business to attend to.

“Do you have to go tonight?” she asked. “We were having a good night. Don’t ruin it.”

“Get out of the car, Alissa.”
