“Was your girl. Move on, my nigga. At this rate you gonna end up in jail or dead. One or the other behind Koi and she doesn’t want you,” he sighed, sitting on the arm of the sofa.
“Taj, did this dummy tell you what just happened? You really pulled a gun on my friend, Marcel? Like what is up with you, bro?” She cut her eyes at me, and then she looked at Taj. “He needs to go. I don’t trust him,” she stated flatly.
“Go in back to bed, Dee, I got this.” He kissed her on her forehead before she gave me one last look, turned on her heels, and left.
“I don’t know what it’s gonna come to, but you need to get it together. You slippin’ and the last thing you need is to get caught up,” he sighed. “I’m gonna be honest with you. Koi is done as she should be, and all you’re doing is making it worse.”
“If it was Dee Dee, then what?” I had to question him. Everyone had a say on how I should be reacting to Koi’s actions, but nobody put themselves in my shoes.
“I wouldn’t have fucked her cousin, so it would never be Dee,” he said confidently.
“Whatever yo.” I didn’t say another word as I left. Everybody had me fucked up. I hopped in my car, driving straight to the condo. When I pulled into my designated parking spot, I was ambushed.
“Hands in the air.” I stopped, heart pounding. “Don’t move.”
“Okay, I’m not moving.” When I opened my mouth, they ran down on me, placing the cuffs on me.
They read me my rights as I cursed under my breath. Koi wasn’t playing fair. If this was her get back, then she had officially won. Now a gun charge was about to be hanging over my head all because she wanted to be throwing her pussy at a new nigga.
“Stupid bitch,” I mumbled to myself.
Two hours passed, and I finally was given a call.
“Hello,” Rika answered in a groggily tone.
“Wake up. I need you to do something for me.”
“Why? What you do for me? Please...” She popped her tongue. “Why you not calling your beloved Koi?”
“Rika, I ain’t got time for the back and forth. Are you gonna handle it or not? I need to know now.”
“Not.”
“You know what, bet. If you thought, I was an asshole before then-.” She made a sound before saying “wait”.
“What do you need from me?” I knew her weak minded ass was gonna give in. She wouldn’t let Koi step in if she wanted to, and right about now, I didn’t care. I needed to be let free so I could figure out if this was Koi or her nigga’s doing.
“I’m locked up, I need you to get up with Taj.”
“For what? Are you crazy? Where am I going to leave our son? Huh?”
“Fuck it.” I slammed the phone down. “I need to make another call,” I shouted to the guard.
“You had ya one call, so move along.”
“Foreal, I really do need to make a call. Please.” I wasn’t a begging ass nigga, but I needed to get a hold of Taj or Bear. Rika had just played herself. She could kiss my ass once I was free. All that trying to be nice so I could be around my son was out the window, and she better hope that I didn’t fight for custody.
For what felt like forever, I sat in the cell until an officer called my name. I hopped up swiftly, looking over at one of the guys in the holding cell who was slumped. This shit wasn’t it. I couldn’t understand how muthafuckas came here and decided to keep fucking up so they’d come back. I made it a point to tell myself this was the last time I was gonna sit in this dirty holding cell with a bunch of funky ass niggas.
The officer handcuffed me before escorting me to the front desk. “Tonight is your lucky night. I hope you know that woman is a good woman.” The guy made it a point to put emphasis on woman. I rolled my eyes up in my head. Wasn’t shit good about Rika. She owed me this after being the reason behind the drama I’ve been dealing with the last few months of my life.
I grabbed up my belongings, waited for them to remove the cuffs, and left. I stopped in my tracks when I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
“You should be glad I’m not a complete bitch.” Koi stood outside of her truck, arms folded in a pair of biker shorts and an oversized tee. She looked good. Her face was makeup free, displaying her glowing skin. Her blonde curls were now hanging down. She no longer rocked a short cut.
“Thank you.” I didn’t even know if I should step closer to her or not. “But why?”
“I don’t know, Marcel. Is it stupid of me to free you? Yes. But I know you ain’t no violent dude, just a cheater. So I couldn’t let you sit in jail behind your feelings. I know you would have done the same for me.”
