Setting his tools down, my dad finally turns toward me.

"Can we talk?" I ask.

"Now is not a good time, Piper."

"I disagree. You've had hours to stew with your feelings just like me. I think now is as good a time as any. Ignoring me is not going to change anything."

"Believe me, Piper. I'm well aware of that fact. My brother," he spits the word brother out like it leaves a bad taste in his mouth, "made me aware when he showed up at your grandfather's house with you on his arm earlier today."

"We weren't trying to be disrespectful."

"No? Because from where I was standing, it sure as shit felt like it."

"Would you rather he hide me like I'm some dirty secret?"

"You're nobody's dirty fuckin' secret, Piper," he fumes.

"Exactly! Tai and I have feelings for each other, and for some time now, but we didn't even act on them until yesterday. Tai refused to hide our relationship from you and the club, that's why he did what he did today. Believe it or not, Tai respects you."

"Respect," Dad huffs. "If he respected me, he would have stayed away from my daughter. I don't want you with him, Piper."

"I'm not asking for your permission. I'm not a child."

"You're my little girl."

"I'll always be your girl, but I'm not little anymore. Tai is my choice, Daddy."

"We'll see," he grinds out.

"What's that supposed to mean? What are you going to do, threaten Tai? Make him stay away from me? I'm sorry to say that's not going to work. Tai told me I was the best decision he's ever made, and he'd risk everything to be with me. And you know what? I believe him."

When my dad doesn't respond, I continue. "Why can't you be happy that I'm happy? You raised me around the club. You raised me around bikers, and what, now, you're all shocked when I fall in love with one? You're my dad. You should want me to be happy and find a man who treats me like I'm everything. That man is Tai."

"I do want you to be happy, Piper, but this situation is complicated. You don't understand."

"I understand. I know how things work in the club."

"Then you shouldn't have gone there," he cuts me off.

"I know you don't think anyone is good enough for me, but I'm asking you to dig deep and ask yourself, is there a better man out there to take care of me than Tai? A man you have known since he was a kid himself, a man who would die for you, for the club and me. A man who will spend his life protecting and making me happy." With those parting words, I turn and walk out of the shop. Even if my heart hurts, I've said my piece. I can only hope my dad learns to accept mine and Tai's relationship and hopefully forgive us both.

"Thanks for the ride," I tell Promise as I unbuckle my seatbelt. After my talk with dad, I went inside the house and packed an overnight bag to take to Tai's. Then I went back to Gampy's to drop off his truck. Since Promise was heading home with Jaxson, she offered to give me a lift.

"No problem, sweetie. And try not to worry about your dad. I'll talk to him. I'm sure he'll come around; he just needs some time."

"Thanks, Promise. I hope you're right."

"It'll all work out, you'll see." She smiles.

Climbing out of the car, I make my way to the trunk and grab my bag. I open the back door to say good-bye to Jaxson. Sticking my head inside, I plant a kiss on his cheek. "See ya, little man."

After waving good-bye and watching Promise disappear down the driveway, I climb the steps to Tai's porch where his cat greets me. Leaning down, I give him a scratch behind his ear. "Hey, Tom."

I hear the creak of the front door opening behind me, and before I can register what is happening, a strong arm snags me around my waist, hauling me inside. Tai kicks the door shut then pins me against it.

"What are you…" I don't get to finish my sentence before his lips come crashing down on mine, stealing the words from my mouth. Moaning, I thread my fingers through his hair.

"I need to be inside you," he declares as he pops the button on my shorts and slides them down my legs, taking my panties with them. Next, I hear the clinking sound of his belt. Once he releases his cock, Tai picks me up, and I wrap my legs around his waist. A second later, he buries himself inside me. "Oh, god!" I cry out. I'm still a little sore from last night, but the fantastic feeling of having him inside me again outweighs the discomfort.
