I went to sidestep Niko. I was never scared of running a fade. Did I fight all the time? No, but a bitch never pumped fear in my heart.

“Baby girl, I ain’t ya friend. I fight the fuck back,” I spat.

“Bitch, fuck you!” Maddie screamed as she threw Tricia to the ground before trying to charge at me.

As soon as she got a few inches from me, I popped her right in her eyes, sending her flying backwards. I was ready to wear her ass out when I felt myself being lifted off the ground by arms wrapped around me, which pinned my own arms to my side..

“Get the fuck offff meee!” I screamed, trying to get loose. I watched as Maddie got up, she used me not being able to move and came over punching me in the eye. I was so fucking mad, I kicked the fuck out of Maddie. Her dramatic ass grabbed her stomach, falling to the ground.

Being carried outside until Niko sat me on the ground he tried to hand me his keys but I snatched my hand back. “Go sit in the car while I take care of this shit real quick.”

“My nigga, I’m not sitting nowhere!” I screamed. “Look at my fucking eye. I’m not doing shit until I beat the dog shit outta that bitch,” I said, trying to walk past Niko, but he pushed me back again.

A remorseful expression crossed his face. “That’s my girl, I can't let you do that.”

My eyes cut into slits as I gave him a death stare. “I don’t give a fuck. You lying ass nigga. I’ll beat yo’ fucking ass, too, but I’ma get my fucking lick back.”

“Yanna, chill the fuck out, and take these fuckin’ keys and sit the fuck down!” Niko yelled, making me jump back in fear. “I fuck with you the long way, but at the end of the day, that’s my girl in there. So, I’ma ride with her right or wrong. Do what I asked you to. Ion want our last day to end on a bad note.”

He tried to give me puppy dog eyes, but I was so fucking mad, I didn’t say anything else. I took his key so he’d leave me the fuck alone.

I watched him jog back into the restaurant, my heart breaking the further he’d got away from me. When he was all the way inside, I threw his keys on the ground. Stomping over to the sidewalk, I made my way down the street while I ordered a car to pick me up. Niko had me fucked up if he really thought I was about to sit in the car while he dealt with his bitch. Right idea, wrong fucking female. I wasn’t going out dumb over a nigga I’d only known for three fucking days. Fuck him, I don’t care how good he made me feel. He wasn’t worth the headache.

I wasn’t a dumb bitch. Niko told me what it was when it came to his girl. There was nothing left to be said between us. Niko was a typical nigga who cheated on his girl. He wanted his cake and to eat it too. As far as I was concerned, he could have as many bitches as he wanted. I was good off of Niko and all niggas for that matter.

Chapter 5

A’yanna Joseph

A Week Later

Everyone swore up and down I had a mean streak in me. My mom swore I got it from my daddy, but if you asked me, I was too fucking nice. I had a bad habit of saying yes to shit I should have said no to. Which is why I was sitting in Will’s Benz frowning my ass off. The last place I wanted to be was anywhere near this nigga, but he’d begged me to come to his mama’s birthday party. Reminded me that I agreed to go with him prior to finding out he’d been fucking my cousin. I would have told Will to kiss my black ass if he didn’t have his mama, Mrs.Connie, call me to confirm I was coming. I liked Mrs.Connie. although I’d only been around her once or twice, she’d always been a sweetheart towards me.

Against my better judgement, I let this nigga pick me up so I could go to this fucking BBQ. I wanted to drive my own car so I could leave if Will started getting on my nerves, which I knew he would. He’d already tried to come in my house when he picked me up. I shut that down immediately. My time with Will had sailed, and I had no plans of revisiting it. I was only here because I didn’t want to be rude to his mom.

My attitude had been on ten since all that shit with Niko. I was mad at the fucking world because of that nigga. My coochie was going through withdrawals that had me pissed. We never got around to exchanging numbers. I had no way to call his stupid ass. Which was probably for the best since I was likely to have a weak moment. Niko had too much shit going on, and I had no desire to deal with a nigga who already had a bitch, that it seemed like he was nowhere near leaving. I’d be better off being back with Will, and that wasn’t happening ever again. I’d rather be single for the rest of my life before I did that. I can’t lie, I was salty as fuck that Niko really had a girlfriend. More so be it seemed like he really fucked with her. I didn’t like that. I wanted to think the connection I had with Niko was special. It was unique from anything he’d shared with anybody else, but seeing how quickly he switched up brought me back down to reality. Now I was stuck mourning a relationship that never happened, and I felt crazy as fuck as all the what if’s ran through my head. That was probably the real reason I agreed to go with Will. I wanted to feel wanted, and the fact that Will begged me to go boosted my ego a little.

However, it was short lived. As soon as Will started trying to get back with me, I regretted my choices. Will hadn’t shut the fuck up since we got in this car, and I was tempted to jump out on the highway just to get a peace of mind. He hadn’t let up trying to convince me to give him a second chance. I had to tell Will I was going to go home if he kept bothering me. He caught on quickly. Will knew better than to call my bluff–the car ride had been silent since.

“Stop lookin’ so mean,” Will said, pulling into the packed parking lot of Eden Park. “At least act like you want to be here, damn.” Will huffed out like a little ass boy.

“I don’t want to fucking be here, and as soon as I see Mrs.Connie and make me a plate, I’m gone,” I told him as I gave him a dirty look. I can’t stand this nigga.

“Listen, though, my people from my daddy side here. Remember I told you about my brother? Him, his girl, and his other brothers are here. Ion wanna look bad in front of them. Can you take it easy on me? That nigga the plug, and I’m tryna get put on, you feel me?”

“You gotta fake impressing your brother to get put on?” I asked skeptically. Will sounded dumb as fuck. What kind of nigga had to put on for their brother?

“I mean, we brothers, but we weren't raised under the same roof. We ain’t grow up super close. I’m tryna change that though. Huh…” Will threw a stack of money on my lap. “Take that as an extra incentive to be nice to a nigga.”

“I mean, I guess,” I said, sliding the stack into my purse before looking back at Will. “Ion understand what the big deal is. You got money already.”

“Shiiit, it ain’t nothing like the money I ah see if the nigga look out for me.”

“Whatever you say,” I replied, getting out of the car, pulling my shorts out the crack of my ass. I frowned looking over at Will.

The mangy ass nigga didn’t even try to open my door for me. Niko would never let me open a door. Fuck Niko. I had to correct myself. Still, I didn’t like having to open my own doors anymore. Niko low key spoiled me over those three days. Simple shit like opening a door seemed like too much work for me. I made a mental note my next nigga had to open all my doors for me.

“What now, Yanna?” Will noticed the deep scowl on my face.
