I scoffed playfully, “Don’t get a big head. This might not even fit me it looks kind of small.” I replied.

“Nah, you can fit that.” He replied sensually as his eyes lustfully ran from my head to toe. “I know yo’ body you can fit that.”

I smacked my lips at Niko. The nigga was acting like he’d known me for years. ”We’ll see.” I smartly said as I headed into the bathroom with the dress in hand to get ready.

It took me about forty-five minutes to get ready. My hair was already done since I got a fresh sew-in a few days ago. I just had to relay my edges, and straighten my hair. I threw on a few gold accessories to help my outfit pop. Niko got me a pair of black sandal heels too. I felt as good as I looked. We were finally headed out the door. Zuriyah was knocked out in her car seat that Niko was carrying as he followed behind me to the stairs.

“Niko?” I asked, turning around, stopping short of the front door.

“What’s up?”

“How do yo know you really want to be with me?”

Niko made me feel like I was floating on cloud nine. When Niko asked me to be his girlfriend I really didn’t know what I expected from him. A part of me felt like he wasn’t even serious I just thought he wanted to keep me from dealing with other niggas. As long as I’d known Niko he’d always been possessive over me. At first I thought he was just that type of nigga. But seeing the way he dealt with Maddie over time told me otherwise. It was like a switch went off in him and he didn’t care anything about Maddie. Over the last month she did everything in her power to pull Niko back to her. Every little scheme she’d hatched failed miserably. I mean the girl went as far as faking going into labor to get him to her house. She was salty when Niko told Maddie he talked to her momma who didn’t cover for Maddie’s foolishness. Her momma told everything. That was the last stunt Maddie pulled and I wanted to feel bad for her but she made it impossible. Seeing how easily Niko was able to turn off his feelings for Maddie made my mind wonder, if they’d been together for years what would stop him from doing the same thing to me in the future.

Niko tilted his head, an amused grin crossed his face. “Cause I know.” He confidently answered.

“Okay but how?” I asked as a frown spread across my face as I placed a hand on my hip. “You were just in a long term relationship with Maddie not too long ago. I’m pretty sure you knew you wanted to be with her too.”

Niko used his free hand to rub his chin. His amused expression turned serious as he replied. “Don’t compare what I feel for you to what I had with Maddie. How I feel about you don’t compare to how I felt about her you feel me? Maddie was cool for that period of my life but now she ain’t it.”

“So what if there comes a time when I don’t fit in a period of time in your life? Then what you gonna leave me and go fuck another bitch?” I plainly asked him, narrowing my eyes at Niko. I kind of felt like he was giving me the run around.

“Do you think that’s how ima handle you?” Niko calmly replied without missing a beat.

“I don’t know what you gonna do in the future. I’m sure Maddie thought she’d be your wife one day.” I smugly responded. I was failing at this conversation, pissing myself off thinking about Niko being with Maddie. While Niko stood before me looking unbothered and confident.

“Why would she think that when I never gave her the impression I wanted her to be my wife.”

Smacking my lips I gave him the year right look, “Nigga you was tryna give me your last night the first time I met you.”

“Again, you comparing what I feel for you to what I never felt for other bitches.” He answered confidently, holding my gaze. Allowing me to see and hear what he was saying.

“I hear you,” I muttered stuck in his commanding gaze.

”Don’t just hear me. Listen and know I meant everything I said. This shit might mean I’m crazy but I always knew I wanted you as mine. The moment I first laid eyes on you. I knew I wanted to be with you. I never believed in that love at first sight shit until I laid eyes on yo’ pretty ass. I never wanted a broad as bad as I wanted you. I struggled with that shit because I thought what I was feeling wasn’t real. I kept fighting that shit until I had no choice but to face reality. You and Zuriyah are my future and end. I can’t see beyond Yanna Freeman cause I know she’s for me.”

I stood in front of Niko with my lip trembling willing myself not to break out in tears at Niko’s words. The intensity of his eyes and the confidence in each word he spoke made me believe he was telling me the truth. My heart fluttered and I felt like I was floating whenNiko’s lips connected with mine. We shared a passionate kiss that broke any resistance I’d have left in me. I was all in when it came to Niko and me. He officially had the power to do damage if he wanted too. It was scary but I trusted Niko with my heart and I knew he’d take care of it.

A knock at the door broke us from our kiss. We shared a loving stare before Niko gently moved me behind him back by Zuriyah’s car seat on the ground. He opened the door at first I couldn’t tell who was at the door then I heard Pricilla’s voice.

“Are you really going to throw away everything you have with Maddison for some slut that you fucked on the first day of knowing her?” Pricilla asked rudely skipping over any pleasantries. I guess she couldn’t see me or Zuriyah since we were blocked by Niko’s frame. “Do you know how upbeat Maddison is because you posted that picture of you with that whore and her baby.” She continued her angry rant.

“That baby is yo’ granddaughter that you still ain’t met yet,” Niko shot back matching Pricilla’s tone.

“We don’t know that yet,” Pricilla replied bitterly. “I’m not claiming any babies without them being tested.”

“So once I hand you these DNA test results you gone start acting like you give a fuck about Zuriyah?”

I couldn’t see her face but from the long pause I assumed Niko caught her off guard. Hell I was just as confused because I didn’t know anything about him getting a DNA test.

“I’m not here to speak about that right now.”

“The what the fuck you here for?”

“Don’t talk to me like that Niko. See when you lay down with bitches you get up with fleas. Y’all keep dealing with these bitches that want to tear y’all away from me. You see hw that girl has your mind messed up?”
