”Niko!” My mama shoot to her feet blocking the door to the hospital room. “Are you not going to make sure Maddie gets home safely? Despite everything she is still the mother of your child. Although she may have said some very distasteful things but her feelings are valid.”

Chuckling at my mama, I had to count to ten to keep from going off on her like I wanted to. Instead I looked her straight in eyes. “Make this the last time you insert yo’ self into my business. Before Nakeem the only son you got fucking with you.”

”Niko, I’m just trying to do what’s best for you.” She pleaded placing her hand on my shoulder.

”Staiyng out my business is a start.” I replied shaking her hand from my shoulder.

”Niko please don’t be upset with me. I’m just so hurt that you’re over there living with a bitch you cheated on me with and the baby you made while I’m all alone. Don't I deserve the same treatment as her?” Maddie desperately asked looking like she was on the verge of crying

However her tears didn’t move me. Maybe had this been a few months ago I might have felt deferently about the situation but Maddie had fucked up. She didn’t want to take responablity for the fucked up shit she’d done she wanted to blame everybody but her fucking self. Maddie was fucked up in hte head for trying to compare our situation with mine and Yanna’s. I may have not intentionally gotten Yanna pregnant but I nutted in her knowing what could come from that. So of course I embraced Yanna’s pregnancy more than I did Maddie’s. I was pissed when I first found out but at the end of the day I was happy Yanna was carrying my seed. Zuriyah was my heart and I didn’t want to be away from her or her mama. Which is why Yanna is staying with me now. But that wasn’t for Maddie or anyone else to understand. She needed to focus on her own shit. I was going to be there for my seed but certain shit I did for Yanna, she wasn’t getting that.

“I mean you should have thought about all that hat for you took it pin yo’ self to get pregnant. Call me if anything changes with my seed.” I sighed, I didn’t have the energy to keep going back and forth with Maddie. Her ass wasn’t about to make me keep repeating myself.

”But but aren’t you going to go to the house with me. Get me settled?” Maddie had tears in her eyes.

“Nah, I ain’t bring you here. Didn’t you pull up with my mama?” I asked looking between Maddie and my mama.

They thought I didn’t peep that Maddie’s car wasn’t outside my house when we left to come here. Which meant Maddie had to be in the car with my mama. Since my mama took it upon herself to bring Maddie she could make sure she made it home.

“Right,” I sarcastically chuckled walking around my mom and out the hospital room.

I dialed Yanna’s number as soon as I made it to the hallway. I expected her to ignore my call not my call going straight to voicemail like she blocked me. I instantly felt myself getting pissed. I swear if she was fina be on some other shit tryna keep my daughter from me. Yanna was going to really be mad at me. We weren’t about to be playin’ games when it came to me being in m daughters life. I’d tie her ass up and put her the basement before I let her keep Zuriyah away from me. Once I made it outside I was Yaro’s all white Porsche Cayenne parked in the fire lane. I jogged over to his car, opening the passenger door. Getting in I dapped him up.

”Preciate you for picking me up,” I told him as he pulled off form the hospital.

“You lucky I love yo’ bitch ass cause my wife wasn't feeling you. She told me I should have let yo’ ass walk home,” Yaro snickered.

”Aww shit Frankee mad at me too?” I fucked with Frankee she was a good look for my brother.

They’re situation might have been a little chaotic when they first started fucking around but they eventually got their shit together. Them sticking together showed real love can conquered all. Frankee helped me with getting on flipping houses. Frankee and one of her friends owned a real estate firm together and she would throw a house for me on the low to flip. Flipping houses was one of the things I did outside of our family business for my own extra income.

“Yeah she ain’t fucking with how you let Maddie run her mouth about Zuriyah.” Yaro said glacing over at me.

“I took care of that shit at the hospital.” I replied evenly.

“I feel that and I’m already knowing you handled that but at the same tim it shouldn’t have gotten that far. The first time Maddie insinuated anything about Zuriyah you should have shut that shit down. Ion give a fuck if she is carrying yo’ seed. That’s my niece and she’s here. We ain’t going for the disrespect cause that shit only gon’ get worse cause that bitch gone feel like you waited to check her when y’all was alone.”

’I hear you Ya,” I sighed. My brothers, we all held each other to a certain accountability. If we felt like one of us were on bullshit we’d call each other out. It was never no hostile either because we all knew the correction was coming from a place of love. “I probably should have handled the situation better. It so much shit happening at once I ain’t know what the fuck to do first. Yanna slapped Maddie so fast I barely saw the shit myself.”

”Man what? Sis slapped that fuck outta Maddie. I swear her ass went flying through the air.” Yaro said laughing. “It took everything in me not to laugh.”

”Man,I didn’t know Yanna’s ass was that fucking strong,” I said shaking my head as the situation replayed in my head.

”The baby good though?”

”Yeah everything good.”

”You peep Maddie car wasn’t outside?” Yaro stayed on his toes so I wasn’t shocked he peeped what our mama and Maddie were on.

”I’m already known. I called them both out on that sneaky shit. I’m finna have to take a break from mama.”

”Be careful if Ma in Maddison’s ear you know it’s some bullshit in the mix,” Yaro warned me.

”I’m already knowing how mama be working.”

”Speaking of mama, that shit with money coming up missing form the barber shop and the club. I got to thinking and looking at shit. That’s how it started back then with that Sonni shit. If I’m right the Carwash finna be short next.” Yaro told me with a serious expression on his face.

Yaro knew how delicate the situation with Sonni was for all of us. Our baby brother losing his life changed each of us and there was an unspoken rule between us that we didn’t talk about him often. Betrayal always hurt worse when it was a mutha fucka you trusted with everything. I know Yaro wouldn’t bring up that situation if he didn’t have concrete evidence.
