“I ain’t ask you to care, but I’m trying to explain what the fuck happened. You wanna be in yo’ feelings and make this shit harder than it needed to be.”
“In my feelings? Yeah the fuck right. I’m Gucci over here.” Niko wasn’t about to know I was feeling some type of way about him having another baby on the way.
“So, you don’t give a fuck about me having another seed?” Niko skeptically asked. I could imagine the cocky smirk he probably had on his face right now.
“Why would I care about what you and another bitch has going on? You was never my nigga for me to care.”
“You say anything out yo’ mouth, huh?” Niko chuckled.
“I state facts, baby daddy.” I smacked my lips.
“You ain’t said shit, forreal, but we both know what it is.”
“Nigga, it wasn’t shit but us fucking.”
“But you carrying my seed though? You ain’t the type of broad to keep a nigga baby you just fuckin’.”
I was silent because this nigga had me. I had always told myself I wouldn’t have any nigga’s baby. I didn’t want to repeat the same mistake my mama did with Nate. I know what I went through having a sperm donor that didn’t give a fuck about me. I never wanted that for my own kids. I kind of felt like having a father that didn’t want you was worse than not having a father at all. Growing up, I struggled so much with the opposite sex because I used to look for my own value in a man. I found myself latching on to the first nigga that paid me attention. I kept getting my feelings hurt because niggas would see the weakness in me and want to take advantage of that. It turned me off from fucking with niggas. Until I realized I was the problem because I was attracting niggas that weren’t shit.
When I first found out I was pregnant, the first thing that came to mind was getting an abortion. I wasn’t baby mama material; I had no desire to be anything close to it. However, when I thought about Niko and the time we shared, a part of me felt guilty. One of the things Niko told me was about his desire to be a dad. It didn’t feel right to take that opportunity away from him without giving him the chance of knowing. By the time I tried to tell Niko about the baby: I was already attached to our baby, so no matter how he was acting, I was keeping my baby.
“That’s what the fuck I thought.” Niko snickered childishly.
“Anyways, what you on my phone for, and where is Solana?”
“Shit, I’m tryna see where you at with my baby, and ‘Lana back at her house.”
“Then how you got her phone?”
“I took it. She prolly pissed, but I’m bring her phone back as soon as you tell me where you at,” Niko calmly said.
“You outta yo’ mind.” I shook my head, biting into the pickle I’d decided on eating until I figured out what I really wanted.
“I been told you that, but you ain’t tryna listen.”
“Un-huh, tell me anything,” I unenthusiastically replied. “I talked to yo’ funky ass brother.
“The fuck you answer his fuckin’ call for?” Nico angrily asked me with his voice raising.
“The fuck you offered that nigga a band to fuck me?” I replied matching his tone.
“You ain’t answer my question, Yanna.”
“I didn’t know it was him. He called me from a different number. Then got mad ‘cause I wasn’t going for his bullshit.”
“You should have hung up as soon as you heard that nigga’s voice.”
“Shoulda, coulda, woulda, my nigga. You should have never approached the nigga and mentioned me.”
“I was tryna see some shit,” Niko replied coolly.
“I don’t know what the fuck you wanted to see, but you got your brother cussed the fuck out, and his feelings hurt.”
“And that’s all it better be.”
“Nigga, bye. I don’t want that nigga, period. Not to mention I’m carrying your baby. I’m sure he’s gonna be pissed ‘bout that.”
That was one thing we hadn’t addressed was him telling Will. He wasn’t my brother, and as far as I was concerned, Will didn’t need to know anything about me. His bitch ass tried to sell my pussy for a couple bands like I was a weak bitch who would really go for that.
