I sighed.
I guess I had to accept Luke, like a symbiotic single-organism life form by her side.
My phone buzzed, and I put the card down.
It wasn’t Amber—she had tuition.
Daniel: There’s a party at Julie’s place tonight at 11 pm.
Me: Nah, got to work on my dissertation.
Daniel: Plenty of time for that. Come to the party, it isn’t going to be a meatfest.
That would have been enough for me to attend in the past, but now I was organising my finances and considering my future. My grandparents had left me a solid trust fund, and now I was thinking about what kind of legacy I could leave for my children.
Me: I’ll think about it.
I wouldn’t.
One more week, and I’d be with Amber.
One more week, and I’d be inside the hottest, tightest little pussy I’d ever known.
Chapter 17
Amber
These had to be my teen wild days. Sneaking around with a secret boyfriend, telling white lies, hiding my contraception pills. I’m sure Mum would understand, but I didn’t want additional stress for either of us right now.
Zach had parked his car two streets away, and I was waiting beside the door to smuggle him inside. The last ten days had been horrid and frustrating.
I couldn’t stop my cheek-to-cheek grin as he raced up the driveway.
He had me in the air, and I wrapped my legs around him.
His nose and lips were cold, but I didn’t care. He had me pressed against the wall, his mouth over mine. I heard the dull thud of his backpack hit the wooden floor. I gripped his hood and rubbed myself against him, moaning into his mouth.
“Say it,” he growled.
“I love you.”
I didn’t hesitate to say the words I knew had him in knots. The time apart was unbearable for him too. I’d lost count of how many times he’d threatened to visit early, breaking our agreement.
I cupped his cheeks and lowered my lips to his. His hands gripped my ass cheeks, fingers biting into me, until I nipped his lip and licked it. It was only when I sucked it into my mouth that he swore and lowered me down.
He closed the door behind him and lifted his bag. He held out his hand, and that’s how we crept upstairs.
In tune.
In love.
And hand in hand.
“Oh, Luke’s sleeping over tonight,” I whispered as we reached the top step.
His face twisted as if he’d sucked on a sour lemon. Zach had gone all macho after the Sadie incident, but the good news was Sadie never came to our house again. He somehow blamed Luke for her fixation on my mum.
He mumbled something about stuffing pillows behind my headboard. His bedroom was closer to my mum’s, so that was out—which was a shame, since he had a double bed.
