“Nope, I can’t ever fill those shoes. What I’m saying is, you can’t be wrapped around me all the time and I can’t rely on you for every little thing. We can be together, take care of each other, and we can also have our own things. This is your time to prove to yourself that you deserve to cement yourself in this,” Kamilla shared.
Cairo groaned. Kamilla could feel the spike of anxiety. Ungluing herself from him, she turned around and held his face.
“Who knew your big, mean, soul-snatching ass was so soft,” she teased, trying to soothe his tension. “No one has ever told you that you deserve to hold your dreams in your hands?”
His jaw clenched in realization that no one had ever seen him in his wholeness until he had her. “Nah. No one cared enough.”
“You deserve to hold your dreams in your hands. You deserve all the things happening. You deserve support. And I am going to play that role. I’ll keep you fed, I’ll keep the bed warm. I’ll be a call away. But you, Cai Baby, you have got to fly.”
He licked his lips and pulled in a deep breath. “I love you, girl.”
“I know,” she hummed.
“You know, I really am going to steal that muhfucka and give it to you,” Cairo motioned to the moon.
“I know that too. I’ll take care of that too. Now relax and hold me, I’m cold.”
Another hour passed and the sun crept into the sky replacing the moon, threatening the warmth of their hold.
Cairo’s baritone rumbled in her ear. “KP taught you how to shoot the same way he taught you how to get the fuck out the spot?”
“Yeah, but only in the case of emergencies.”
“Aight, I’m leaving a clean gun in case of emergencies. Don’t leave the house without it. If I gotta be away from you, I need to know you can protect yourself. I’m a call away. Ain’t no studio session or no opportunity bigger than you, on Azul,” he stated.
“On Azul.”
twenty-four
“Good morning,” Cairo groaned wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her neck. “What you in here doing with these two pans?”
“Three. I returned that dress and got a pan,” Camilla announced, letting her body melt against his. “It’s two. You have to be at the studio by eight. You got lunch to eat now, dinner before you go and if you sneak back in when I’m sleep, your food will be in the fridge. I gotta leave by six to get the studio cleaned.”
“I hear you and all this is cool, but I got an appetite for something else,” he grumbled in her ear, his erection pressed against her back.
“Oh, how romantic,” she giggled. “While I’m covered in breadcrumbs.”
“You could be in here hair sticking up, still be the finest thing,” Cairo reached around her and turned the stove off. “Let me show you.”
“You gotta eat,” she groaned, as he hoisted her up and carried her to the living room.
Dropping into the cushions, Kamilla adjusted her straddle.
“I gotta eat you first, everything else second. You’ve convinced me to act like I’m normal for two weeks and smother the need to live in your skin,” he started, pulling the t-shirt over her bonnet-covered head. The bonnet was next. “You know you fuckin’ beautiful.”
“So are you,” she hummed, nipping her lip while her hands massaged his shoulders. “You still nervous?”
Cairo leaned forward and kissed the center of her chest. That was the answer. Kamilla hummed, watching his lips and mouth kiss and suckle her skin. “I want my Mariposa. That shit she got is better than weed.”
Kamilla smirked, running her hand over the back on his head. “I think I got one better. If you let me.”
“Uh uh. Don’t do that soft shit. Take what you want,” Cairo muttered against her soft skin.
Nipping her lip, Kamilla wiggled off of his lap and lowered herself to her knees. Her tiny hand pushed up his thighs to the top of his basketball shorts. A low rumble of laughter pushed from his lips.
“You know what you doing?” he teased, watching Kamilla free him. He reached out gathered her hair in his hand.
“No, but I’m going to listen,” she spoke softly before kissing the tip. She did it again, then licked his shaft, her attention balanced on his movements. Inch by inch, she took him in. The gentle motions of his wrist coaxing her to bob up and down.
