Cairo pulled her down to his lap and kissed her face. “Yes and no. Your son kicked me in the face twice and for a second, I forgot that I was in the bed with my family and not in a bunk. Almost sent my boy flyin’ across the room.”
“He did that on purpose,” Kamilla softly laughed, peering down at him gazing up at her. “I had to fight my way out of his vice grip.”
“I can’t be mad at him though; he gets the territorial shit from me,” Cairo hummed, kissing her again.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” she softly questioned, knowing the answer but wanting to hear it. Deprived.
Cairo buried his hands into her hair and groaned. “I can’t look at you, Mariposa? Take in some soft features in the morning?”
Kamilla’s eyes lifted to the large windows of the sunroom. The sun had barely broken the horizon. “You can. I was just asking. You got my hair all over the place.”
“That’s how I like it. Beautiful as hell you know that?” he posed as she picked up his headphones and repositioned herself to staddle his lap.
“Mmhmm,” she buzzed. “I know. You’re not too bad yourself.”
“Stop talkin’ to me like that,” he muttered against the fabric of her shirt. “Want to hear what I’m working on?”
“Always,” she buzzed, placing the large headphones over her ears. Cairo reached around her, hit the space bar and leaned back in the seat, watching her intently.
He’d studied the beat forward and backward for hours. The soft thump of his fingers against the exposed skin on her thighs, he watched her. A facial expression, a bob of the head anything even a twinkle of the eye would’ve settled his longing for her approval. Approval he never knew he needed until his vision was graced by those eyes on him.
In her ears played a sexy, sultry R&B beat made for no one other than Ekho. There was an undertone of that Port East trill beat. Kamilla appreciated how smooth it was. Another banger on his hands and she knew it. Her eyes lowered and she nipped her lip before placing her soft hands on his bare shoulders.
“This makes me feel like,” she hummed in his ear. “I should ride you slow and watch the sun come up.”
Cairo nipped his lip, pushing his hands up her shirt. She took the headphones off, hearing the soft mischievous patter of feet inch closer. “We can. You got to keep that shit down though.”
“It’s not me that needs to keep it down,” Kamilla whispered, feeling his fingers glide over its target. “Watch it, daddy. Your son is dressed like Black Panther and he’s in position to pounce. Don’t look. Let him have the element of surprise.”
Cairo chuckled against her lips stealing a series of kisses. He knew he wouldn’t be able to get any once he focused his attention on his son. “I’m going to have Nate keep him. I need my baby.”
“I already told you, you could go get another girlfriend.”
“Waste of my time, they’ll return me to sender.” Cairo’s teeth nipped her bottom lip. “You’re the only one who can temper the crazy. You’re stuck with me.”
“That’s my kisses!” their son shouted, leaping towards them.
“Boy, this is my woman and my kisses,” Cairo went along, peppering Kamilla’s faces with kisses as he blocked attacks from his hyper son. Swiftly he stood up, tossed Kamilla over his shoulder and jogged into the living room.
Kamilla, in a fit of giggles, reached out for their son who was running full speed behind his parents. “Help me, Kai Baby, the giant has me!”
“I got him mommy,” the little human shouted, wrapping himself around Cairo’s legs. Kamilla was dropped to the cushions of the couch. He climbed up Cairo’s body, delivering a series of punches and declarations. “You stole my kisses! Give them back!”
“You’ll never get them back,” Cairo played, wrapping his arms around himself to get his son. Once he did, he tossed him in the air and kissed his face and did it again. “I’m taking all of yours, too!”
“No! They’re only for Mommy!”
“Kai Baby, don’t let him steal your kisses,” Kamilla encouraged from the corner of the couch. “Get my kisses back!”
“You can’t get your kisses,” Cairo declared before his son grabbed his lips. Dropping down by Kamilla, Cairo was committed to giving his son memories he never had.
“Get the giant, mommy!” he shouted, tickling Cairo.
Kamilla joined in on the tickle fest, getting snatched up in the process along with her son by Cairo’s long arms. He gave them each kisses and held them close. Kamilla laid on his chest and pulled their son into her.
“That was fun,” the pint-sized human announced. “Can we swim again, daddy?”
“Daddy has a meeting today,” Kamilla started, her eyes closed, still basking in the moment they prayed for.
