Freddy cried out, his hips rocking against her as the waves of her climax rolled through her. She could feel him throbbing inside her, his orgasm joining hers as they moved together. Wrapping her legs around his, she held him close, the hand that had been in his hair moving down to grab hold of his other cheek, as if she could pull him deeper inside her.

Floating on euphoria, she shuddered as the last of her orgasm tightened and released. Her pussy clenching and relaxing, she milked Freddy of his cum until he collapsed atop her. Gentling her grip on his ass, she slid the tip of her finger out of him and used her other hand to stroke her fingers along his spine. Both of them panted for breath as they came back to themselves.

“Fuck…” Freddy pressed his forehead against her shoulder, shuddering again as a mini-orgasm wracked him. He shrank inside her but didn’t move away, as if he wanted to be as close to her as possible for as long as possible.

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” she said, laughing softly when he lifted his head and gave her an incredulous look. Then he shook his head, smiling.

“Happy Valentine’s Day.” He shook his head again, his blue eyes dancing with happiness. “Is it too soon to say I’m pretty sure I’m falling in love with you?”

Camille’s breath felt like it had been sucked away as she stared up at him, completely flabbergasted. That had been one of the last things she’d expected him to say, and her mind went completely blank. His smile faltered, though he pushed it back up, trying to hide his disappointment.

“Ah, too soon, huh?” he joked, except it wasn’t really a joke.

“No! I mean, no it’s not too soon,” she hastily clarified. “I just wasn’t expecting it, and I have sex brain right now—you can’t ambush me with new information when I’m still on the orgasm cloud.”

The sparkle was back in his eyes.

“The orgasm cloud?”

She scowled at him.

“I can still give you a Valentine’s Day spanking,” she threatened, and he laughed. He started to roll off of her, but she caught him, holding him in place right where he was. “For the record, I’m pretty sure I’m falling in love with you, too.”

“Oh, really?”

“Really. How could I not? You’re basically perfect for me.”

His smile widened.

“Funny, I feel the same way about you. Like my whole life got better when we met.”

That made her laugh. It sounded ludicrous—they’d met, then immediately had an issue with their respective clients—but it was true. Her life had gotten better from the moment she met him, and it seemed like the upward trajectory was still going. She’d stopped waiting for the other shoe to drop.

There was no other shoe. There was just her choice to embrace happiness. To give herself permission to be herself and do the things she needed to do. Part of which she’d learned because of him.

Camille pulled him down for another hot kiss. Dessert didn’t have to be over yet. It was the perfect way to end Valentine’s Day.

Freddy was the happily-ever-after she hadn’t thought she would ever get.

Epilogue

Morgan

Looking around Stronghold, Morgan wondered if she could escape the current conversation or if that would cause more drama. She was so tired of hearing Noelle complain that Freddy hadn’t taken her complaint of bullying seriously. It didn’t help that Carolyn was egging her on, though everyone else seemed to have grown tired of it.

“I’m never going to get taken seriously, not when everyone in charge is friends with Iris or Law,” Noelle huffed, crossing her arms across her chest and glaring across the room at the woman in question. Personally, Morgan thought Noelle would be a lot happier if she stopped focusing so much on Iris, but no one was asking her, and she’d learned she wasn’t supposed to offer an opinion unless it was requested.

It didn’t seem to stop other people from offering opinions, but there were rules around when and how it was okay to do so, and she didn’t think she understood them well enough to try.

“You should complain directly to Patrick,” Carolyn said, a gleam in her eyes. “Get it on record.”

Something about Noelle had brought out a side of her that Morgan hadn’t seen before. She didn’t like it very much but didn’t know what to do. Carolyn was her friend, and that was supposed to mean something, right? She supposed Noelle was her friend now, too, but she was never sure whether she liked Noelle, but since they were all friends with each other, that was another thing she wasn’t supposed to say.

“They don’t have records like that here. It’s not a police station.” Amy shook her head.

Morgan tilted her head, trying to figure out why it was okay for Amy to disagree in this instance, but it wouldn’t be okay for her to tell Noelle to focus on herself instead of Iris.

Or maybe it would be okay?
