Keaton pulled back, “You had a little frosting on your lip.” Bryce snorted, “Yes, and that is how one gets frosting off someone’s lip.” Keaton growled at him and yanked me against his body, “MINE!” Bryce sighed, “Such a testy man you are.”

I laughed and kissed Keaton’s cheek. I said, “Let’s all sit down and eat.” Bryce smiled, “Don’t mind if I do.” Keaton grumbled until I sat in his lap. Bryce sighed, “I gotta get me a girlfriend.” I laughed, “Don’t tell me there’s a shortage of girls who want to be your girlfriend.”

Bryce smirked, “I’m picky.” I laughed, “So, you could have a girlfriend.” Bryce winked at me, “Some say I’m a lot to handle, I can be dramatic.” I shrugged, “That won’t matter to the right person. I actually went to school with a girl who would look super cute with you. She’s pretty chill too.”

Bryce asked, “And her name is?” I smirked, “Her name is Larisa White.” Keaton stiffened and Bryce shot him a look. Keaton asked, “And where did you meet Larisa?” I answered, “Texas.” Keaton snorted, “Ok then.”

I asked, “Do you know her?” My boyfriend cagily replied, “Maybe. What does she look like?” I answered, “She’s got black hair, brown eyes and….” The look on his face told me all I needed to know. I grinned, “You totally know her. Does Bryce know her too?”

Keaton laughed, “I don’t think he met her, no.” Bryce smiled, “Keaton could arrange a meeting with this chill girl for me though.” I teased, “You could date an older woman. Larisa graduated last year.” Bryce wiggled his eyebrow then winked, “I’ll let you in on a little secret, Miss Odette, I always date older women.”

I smiled, “Then I’m good at this.” Keaton snorted, “Quite possibly.” Bryce smiled, “Maybe these here parts could take the crown away from the techy wife over in Black Mountain being the hookup person.” I asked, “Techy wife?”

Bryce laughed, “There’s a girl who knows a lot of people, she’s got A LOT of friends.” I shrugged, “I wasn’t Larisa’s friend. I wasn’t really anyone’s friend except in one place I’ve lived. My ex didn’t like them, and my mom took me away.” I put my fork down, because this longing hit me and Sassy. I missed Melanie, Addison, Paige, Avery, Valentina, Olivia, and Sierra.

Keaton consoled me quickly, “I’m sure we can find them for you.” I snorted, “I’m going to find them when I turn eighteen. Right now, I’m not rocking the boat. Mom hasn’t called, emailed, or shown back up to make us leave, and I want to stay.”

Keaton growled and slammed his lips on mine. When I looked pulled back and looking into his eyes I wanted to groan. I was seeing things again because my boyfriend’s eyes were all black. Keaton told me, “You’re not going anywhere.”

I tapped his nose, “Which is why I can’t find my friends yet. If my mom found out, she’d make us leave.” Keaton pulled me against him. Bryce said, “We have to go, Keaton.” My boyfriend growled at him. I teased, “You’re very growly today.” I bit his ear and whispered, “It’s hot.”

Bryce sighed, “That’s not helping.” I giggled, “But it’s my birthday.” I bit my lip smiling. Keaton asked, “What’s that smile for, my Song?” I admitted, “I’ve always wanted to say that. I’ve heard so many people use the birthday excuse for something. I’ll admit, I was jealous because I never got to say it myself.” Nothing I wanted ever mattered and that excuse would’ve had Luke hitting me so much sooner than he did.

Keaton kissed me again until Bryce repeatedly cleared his throat. Keaton groaned, “FINE!” He stood up and carried me. I squealed, “What are you doing?” Keaton answered, “Carrying you to my truck. Bryce can sit in the back.”

I pointed out, “Wouldn’t he drive his own car?” Bryce said, “Nah, I ran here.” I gasped, “You RAN here? Jeez.” He wasn’t even sweaty. It was several miles from where Keaton had driven me that one day. My head started to hurt. Nope, not today. No thoughts like that on my birthday.

We drove up to a gymnastics gym. I laughed, “Yellow Hills Gymnastics. I should’ve guessed that since this is the outfit Immy has me in.” I caught sight of Lisa in the trees. My eyes narrowed as I quickly kissed Keaton on lips.

My boyfriend told me, “I’ll go inside and check on everything. Can you give us ten minutes?” How incredibly perfect. I nodded, “Sure thing.” Keaton teased, “Stay here.” I didn’t answer because I was not going to do that. Sassy was humming contently, clearly onboard with my plan.

The second Keaton and Bryce went inside; I got out and ran to where I saw Lisa. I yelled, “Get out here and face me, you bitch!” I heard Lisa behind me, turned, and decked her. Lisa screamed so loud I was certain the dead heard her.

I warned, “Listen here, you psycho daisy may, stop stalking Keaton and me. He’s not your personal tissue and this is officially pathetic. Get some help.” I started to walk away. My boyfriend’s ex hissed, “You’ll pay for that.”

I whirled, “Don’t worry, I’ll be expecting my report on my technique. I want to know the velocity of my arm and everything. It’s probably the only math you can do, right? Putting people down seems to be your specialty.” Lisa paled, “He wouldn’t tell you about that.”

My eyes widened because her reaction meant that report was real. I stalked back over and hit Lisa again. She dropped like a sack of potatoes. I warned, “Stay away from Keaton. If you hurt him EVER again, I’ll get you bitch. I’ll use connections you can’t possibly imagine I have.”

Lisa definitely didn’t know my family was in the mob. Caspian would help me kill her, I knew he would. If he wouldn’t, Trit would absolutely help me. Or Cython. He’d think it was funny and probably something we could bond over.

Lisa yelled, “Stop hitting me.” I retorted, “Stop stalking me, and I’ll stop hitting you.” Lisa yelled, “I was making him better, but you’re RUINING him. Along with all my hard work.” SHE WAS SUCH A BITCH!

Sassy took over and punched her again. Lisa screamed, “You broke my nose.” I replied, “I know. My friend taught me how to fight.” I’d broken her nose and her zygomatic bone. Lisa demanded, “Stop ruining everything and go back where you belong!”

I questioned, “Where is that exactly?” Lisa screamed, “Not here! Just go back to being alone! You are NOTHING but a stupid girl without a clue.” I snorted, “At least I’m not a psychotic bitch who bullies people to make them feel bad about themselves.”

I added, “I like it here, so I’m not leaving. I think I belong here, and you know it. I bet it just grates at you, that these people you’ve known longer all prefer me. You need to seek professional help, and I mean that from my soul.”

“You seem to think the WORLD is your personal tissue! You’re so miserable you think it’s acceptable to put everyone else down. You hurt Keaton emotionally and I’ll make sure you pay for that. I’m not sorry I freed him from your abusive ass either.”

Lisa went to hit me, but I just smirked while using a move Melanie taught me. I blocked Lisa’s shot at my face then slammed my head into hers. Lisa screeched in pain then dropped to the ground unconscious. I wasn’t shocked Melanie was right about the outcome of using that move. Melanie was always right.

Someone started to clap. I turned and saw Emmett, Malachi, Emmett’s wife, and the woman who must be Malachi’s wife. Emmett declared, “That was a move.” Malachi’s wife snorted, “It was and now Lisa has shut up.”

Malachi laughed, “Adlee.” His wife asked, “What? Lisa’s so annoying that even Alexandria agrees. My bestie likes most people while I’m the pessimist in our group. So, it says a whole lot that not even Alexandria likes Lisa.” Agreed.

Emmett’s wife laughed, “That’s true. I quite like her though.” Alexandria pointed to me. I blushed, “Uhh just for the record, I don’t usually punch people. Lisa’s stalking me. Plus, she’s been awful to Key in so many ways.”
