We are safe, it’s you we fear for. We are asking for your trust and implore, we aren’t above begging, you to give it. The Merrick’s are watching us because we are watching them. We are stronger than they are, I promise you that. It’s why they want you. Trust your gut.
My last question for you is do you have a pet?
Noxus
I was about to reply when Sassy started singing. I squealed and got up to unlock the door. I grabbed my fake swords and stood a few feet back like I was ready to attack. Keaton knocked. I called, “Enter if you dare.”
I heard him chuckle then my man opened the door and dropped an overnight bag. Keaton growled when he saw me. Sassy started happily singing again. Keaton sounded as though he was restraining himself, “Odette, what…?” I interrupted, “I’m Deadpool.”
Keaton eyed my sword and I literally saw him springing to attention. Really? It was a fake sword. My boyfriend was clearly into swords though. Keaton started to come towards me, but I giggled and ran from him.
Keaton was on me faster than I could blink. I gasped, “How are you the basketball star? You should be the track star. Seriously. I’m usually faster than most people.” He ran his hands over my outfit. Sassy was content and happy in my head.
Keaton nibbled my ear, “You’re so sexy and mine.” Then his lips were on mine. When Keaton slid his tongue into my mouth, everything went to hell. Sassy started hissing with a vengeance. I tried to pull back but instead started sucking on his tongue.
Keaton froze, literally, he wasn’t even blinking. I tried to back away, but I couldn’t. That made me start crying. Blue lines, that looked like shimmering water, were appearing on Keaton’s skin. There were lines going from his neck to his lips.
What was happening? Sassy was still making me suck on Keaton’s tongue. I was starting to feel sick. Suddenly I flew backwards from him. I gasped, “Key.” My boyfriend was still frozen. I screamed “No! Oh god. What did I do? Key, please move.” The blue lines were still there on his face.
I grabbed his hand, but nothing happened. I cried, “Sassy, help me! What did we do?” Her song sounded garbled, like she was drunk. I felt like I was going to throw up at any moment. I hugged Keaton, “I’m so sorry, Key. I don’t know what I did. No, ok. This is not happening. I fell asleep and I’m dreaming. NO! I’m hallucinating. That’s it.”
I nodded, “Ok, I’m hallucinating. People’s faces don’t shimmer with blue lines because you suck on their tongue, Odette. God, I’m going to be sick.” I ran to my phone, pulled up my email, and called the first person I thought of: Caspian.
My mob boss brother answered, “I would very much like you to stop hanging up on me.” I sobbed, “I did something, and I don’t know what though. I must have hurt him. He’s not moving and he’s glowing blue, I feel like I’m going to be sick. Why isn’t he moving? He’s standing up. He’s ok. Right? This isn’t happening. Am I on drugs? Caspian, I don’t know what to do.”
Caspian calmly said, “Odette, take a deep breath. Your song boy is fine, you wouldn’t hurt him.” I whispered, “You don’t know that.” Caspian argued, “Think about hurting him.” I physically reacted, just thinking about it.
I cringed, “I can’t.” Caspian said, “Exactly, walk me through what happened.” I whispered, “We were kissing, then when his tongue entered my mouth Sassy started hissing. Then…” Caspian interrupted, “I’m sorry, who is Sassy?”
I quickly explained, “My sassy song. I call her Sassy for short. The thing is she wouldn’t let me stop.” Caspian asked, “How long did it take?” I looked around for a clock saying, “It felt like a few seconds…” I trailed off when I spotted the time.
I screamed, “It’s been a two hours! Oh my god! I need to call an ambulance. Why do I keep calling you? THINK, ODETTE!” Caspian practically ordered, “DO NOT hang up if you want your song boy to return to normal.”
I asked, “Can you help him?” Caspian answered, “I can. That's why you called me and on some level you know that.” I cried, “I don’t understand.” My brother consoled me, “I know you don’t. I’ll help you though it and everything will be ok.” His words actually helped me calm down.
I was trying to stop crying then I saw Keaton unmoving, I started all over again. I heard Caspian mutter, “Harpies. Now we have to deal with Harpies? God, what’s next? This is ridiculous.” What was he talking about? Did the mob say harpy instead of bitch? They didn’t in my books, but I found myself giggling because that was kind of funny.
Caspian quickly asked “Odette, can you get to a body of water without being seen?” I confidently said, “Yes, but I can’t leave my song boy.” Caspian assured me, “He won’t remember that you left, and he can’t come out of it until you do exactly as I say.”
I muttered, “I’m never going to that burger place again. They must have put hallucinogenic drugs in my drink or something.” Caspian snorted, “Sure, just get to a body of water.” I grabbed my keys. I told my dog, “I’ll be back, Tatum.” She barked and grabbed her leash. I sighed, “You can’t come with me.”
Caspian sounded amused, “Did you get a dog?” I answered, “Yes, she’s a very cute well trained puppy. I’ll send you a picture.” Caspian chuckled, “Please do that but bring the dog with you. She can help protect you.”
What? My brother must think I got an attack dog, when in reality Tatum was a very small dog. Ugh. Whatever. I put her leash on and grabbed my keys. I locked the door and quickly made my way out the side of the building.
I groaned, “I should’ve changed.” I heard another man ask, “Why is that?” I snorted, “Because I’m running around in a Sexy Deadpool outfit! That’s why. Who am I speaking to?” Everyone started laughing.
Caspian answered, “That was Cornelius.” I snorted, “I’m sorry. Your names that I know of so far as Caspian, Cordelius, and now Cornelius. Mom is really unimaginative. What are the rest of your names? Keep in mind, I’m certain the C names continue.”
Caspian answered, “Cadence, Cython, and Trit.” I snorted, “Trit? Why didn’t he get a C name?” A man laughed, “Because dad named me. I go by Trit, but it’s actually Triton.” I asked, “Your dad named you after the mythical creature that are fierce and violent Warriors on sea and land? Why?”
Caspian said, “Most people assume it’s that my dad likes the Little Mermaid where you are from. I snorted, “You don’t know where I’m from, and Tritons are a group of people not a merman.” Trit spoke again, “My, my someone knows their mythology, don’t they?”
I admitted, “I had a period of time where I really liked all mythology and anything Supernatural.” I paused, “Ok, I still like all of it. It’s not like you’ll tell mom I’m still an embarrassing nerd.” Several people hissed.
Caspian angrily said, “Do not ever call yourself an embarrassment. We all like things involving the Supernatural and mythology as well.” Trit asked, “Do you know where my name actually comes from, little sister? You clearly know what Triton’s do, but do you know what they are?”
I answered, “Of course I…” I cut off and groaned, “Oh god.” I fell to my knees at the pond. I managed to say, “I feel sick.” Tatum was nudging me forward, as if to encourage me. Caspian calmly told me, “That’s perfectly normal, get to the water’s edge.
