I sighed, “I don’t think you’re going to. Katie said it was the rogue from the school that killed this man. I think Jag is following her. He probably trailed Katie and took the phone.” Malachi rubbed his face. Emmett frowned, “So your girlfriend told a rogue to help her, and it did. Now, it’s following her and ripping people apart that threaten her?”

I asked, “Ripped him apart? Katie said he ripped his throat out.” Emmett snorted, “The initial attack happened here.” He pointed at the path. There was a lot of blood. He led me over to where Zach was standing. There were body parts littering the area. The guy was in pieces, then they all disappeared.

I asked, “What the hell?” Zach said, “Body parts keep disappearing. It’s not turning to dust, more like puddles. I don’t know what’s going on. Other than Jag ripped this guy to pieces.” Channing growled, “He likes our mate too much.” I had to agree.

Malachi said, “I think we have to share our theory, Emmett.” I asked, “What theory?” Emmett sighed, “Malachi doesn’t think these attacks are rogues. They are too organized, and this confirms that. It’s not manic like rogues are. They kill quickly and aren’t usually so vicious. They’ve just gone crazy. This is very calculated and doesn’t suggest that this rogue, if he is one, has lost it.”

I frowned, “Their eyes are red.” Malachi sighed, “That’s the hang up, but they don’t act like rogues.” He was right, they didn’t. Zach said, “Someone already searched this dead disappearing guy’s stuff. He didn’t have an identification, but there was a clear indentation in his pocket for a wallet.”

Emmett said, “Great. So, we have a possible non-rogue playing vigilante wolf hero to Keaton’s girlfriend, and we can’t find him.” I asked, “What do you mean we can’t find him?” Malachi reminded me, “He doesn’t have a scent.”

I let Channing take over. My wolf searched the grounds, but they were right. The only scent we could get was the dead guy. Channing whined and I shifted back. Malachi handed me shorts. He told me, “We’ll figure it out.”

I didn’t know how we were going to do that, since I didn’t know why they wanted her. My brain was running through threat assessments to my mate. I didn’t have enough of the puzzle. I knew my mate was in danger though.

I told Emmett, “This is the scent we caught on the note for me. He was the one watching us and must have left the note.” Emmett nodded. I asked my brother, “What do you need from me?” My brother answered, “Go see Katie.” I frowned, “I can help.”

Emmett nodded, “I know, but I need someone to make sure Katie doesn’t call the cops. I also need you to be around her and hyper alert. There’s a wolf following her around and I want to talk to him.” So, did I because I needed to thank Jag for saving her, and make sure he knew Odette was mine.

I made it to Odette’s apartment quickly. I’d been gone longer than I’d planned. I quickly grabbed some of the condoms Benji had conjured to my glove box and ran upstairs. I scented a strange smell in her hallway. I was on high alert, but then Odette opened the door.

My eyes were instantly drawn to the small dog. Its name was Tatum. Channing linked, “It’s like mate knows but doesn’t. I like this dog, look at how cute it is.” The dog didn’t even growl at me. Was it a dog?

Channing questioned, “What else would it be?” I replied, “I don’t know. Dogs usually take some time to get used to us. This one doesn’t care that we are a wolf.” Channing purred at the dog in my mind. This entire experience was odd.

Odette agreed to go to the school dance with me. I was elated, this was going to be fun. My mate panicked when I mentioned condoms. Did she not want to have sex? Channing snorted, “Mate’s legs aren’t shaved. I’m pretty sure that’s the cause of her panic here.” My wolf was right.

Odette wanted to freshen up. Fair enough, but I really didn’t care. I should probably shower too then. I took her dog outside. I told Tatum, “I guess we need to give her some time.” Tatum happily walked next to me.

Channing linked, “I want to meet this dog.” I warned, “That’s probably a bad idea.” Channing replied, “Please. I can’t meet mate yet, so this is a compromise.” I sighed, “When the dog runs, you’ll have to catch it.” Channing was really excited.

I told Tatum as I led her towards the forest, “Don’t panic, ok? I’m a Werewolf and my wolf wants to meet you. God, I’m talking to dog.” The dog yipped happily. I took off my shorts once we were in a covered area then shifted into Channing.

The dog yipped and nipped at Channing’s feet, which my wolf found funny. Then they started chasing each other. What is happening right now? I shifted back and Tatum pouted. I studied the dog asking, “Are you a dog? I’m beginning to think you’re something else.” She yipped at me.

I warned, “If you turn human, now is the time to do so.” The dog tilted its head but didn’t do anything. I sighed, “Well, that should be enough time for a shower. Let’s go back.” I walked back into Odette’s apartment. There were candles everywhere.

I called, “Odette?” My mate giggled, “I found some things.” Clearly. Tatum sauntered to the kitchen where food was laid out for her. I swear the dog looked at me with a look asking what I was waiting for. My hands were shaking slightly because I didn’t want to mess this up.

I walked into my mate’s room. My mate looked so tempting in her light green robe. I told her, “I should probably shower.” Odette sauntered over to me then slowly kissed me. My hands immediately pulled her to me.

Odette pulled back and nibbled my marking spot. My reaction of gripping her waist was involuntary. I felt my canines elongate. Odette whispered, “You smell so good, Key.” Fuck. I attacked her lips, untied her robe, and let it fall.

I didn't even look at what my mate was wearing. I had her bra off in a second. I buried my face in between her perfect boobs before pulling her nipple into my mouth while her fingers pulled at my hair. The smell of her arousal was driving me mad. I laid Odette down on the bed.

I muttered, “God, you smell so good.” I ripped her thong off. Odette gasped but I didn’t care because I buried my face between her thighs. The new thing I was now obsessed with was her breathless scream as she moaned my name.

I pushed my fingers into Odette causing her to come off the bed. When Odette came again, she grabbed my hand and pulled me up to her lips. My mate panted, “I swear if you’re not inside me in the next thirty seconds, I’ll combust. Literally. Then you’ll have to explain that to the police.”

I snorted and kissed her again while she pulled my pants off. I pulled the condoms out. I was about to put it on when she grabbed it from me. Odette bit her lip and smiled at me innocently as she rolled it down my length.

Channing snorted, “All that learning how to do this, and mate just did it.” Seriously. I watched her carefully discovering we’d at least learned the right way. My insecurities were trying to force their way in as all of Lisa’s words entered my mind.

Odette said, “Umm Key, do you have a bigger one? This one doesn’t fit.” I looked down asking, “What?” Odette snickered, “Jeez Key, don’t you know the wrong size is uncomfortable? Oh god. I’m actually going to combust. I wish you luck explaining that to the authorities.”

I managed to say, “I have other sizes.” I grabbed a variety from the truck. Odette grabbed my pants and went through them. Eventually my mate announced, “This one might be the ticket, it’s the biggest. Let’s hope for the best here, Key.” She winked at me.

I stared at my mate in shock. The biggest? Odette picked the biggest one? Not the next size up? Before I could shut this down, she rolled the new one on. It did feel better. Channing scoffed, “It feels like our dick is choking.” I nearly laughed.
