Puff opened the door. “Hey Blake, got a minute?”

Blake looked up and smiled. “I do. I’ve just seen the email Barnabus sent. Thank your cousin for me. To find out the name of the island and get hold of the email, truthfully, I wasn’t holding out much hope.”

Puff sat in front of his desk. “Me either, but thank goodness he did. Padraic’s asked to move here. I obviously said yes.”

“Good. He and his family can move into one of the new houses. I had an email from the council, and there is a garrison of council guards turning up in a few days.”

“Good. More soldiers.”

“They might need training though, but that’s easy enough to do. Did you see the email from Ash with stationery designs?”

Puff shook his head. “No, let me look now.” He found the email and opened it, looking at the designs. “They’re amazing.”

“They are. He did one for King me and Pack me.”

“I never gave a thought to stationery or things like that.”

“Neither had I. Thank goodness Ash did.”

Lord Woodcott is approaching. Bob said.

Where is he?

Just coming up to the drive entrance.

Okay, thanks. “Bob just told me Lord Woodcott is just about to reach the drive entrance. I’ll go and meet him.”

Blake stood up. “I’ll come with you.”

Puff nodded, and the two men walked out of his office.

Puff’s phone pinged. He pulled it out and saw a message from the dragon gate guard. “He’s arrived.” He sent a message back asking the guard to let him through.

They walked through the hall towards the front door. Puff put his tablet on the foyer chair and went outside.

They saw a limo just parking up and walked towards it, as Lord Woodcott got out.

Lord Woodcott stopped in front of them and dropped to one knee, placing a hand over his heart. “Your majesties, I’ve failed you. Please accept my humble apologies. King Puff, if you require my resignation as one of your ambassadors, I will submit it now.”

Bob? Puff asked.

He felt Bob come forward. He is a good ambassador. What happened wasn’t his fault; it was all on Maggon.

Puff looked at Blake. I heard. Blake told him.

“Hello, Lord Woodcott. Please stand up.”

The dragon lord stood.

“I don’t need your resignation. What Maggon did wasn’t your fault.”

“How did the dark magic user get on your island?” Blake enquired.

“Because we are an island, I didn’t have any protection or wards around it. That has now changed. I went through Maggon’s electronics; it looks like he found the man on the dark web, and the man used his magic to get on the island.”

“We all make mistakes. Thankfully, both the magic user and Maggon are now dead, and Silver is safe,” Blake said.

“Bad business, using dark magic to strip a dragon. I didn’t even know that was possible,” Lord Woodcott said. “I torched the area they used, so all residue of dark magic has been destroyed.”
