“Can you blame me?” Rafe growled, hands sliding down to grip Nora’s ass. “After all, you didn’t come into your power until I fucked you within an inch of your life.”
Nora shuddered, remembering their mating, desire and magic swirling between them. “Is that a promise for later?”
The wolf in Rafe rose with a snarl, ready to claim his mate.
Mine. Ours. Forever.
He took a steadying breath, aware of little eyes watching them. “Careful, darling. You know we can’t control ourselves once we get started.”
“You’re right.” Nora sighed. “But that doesn’t make the waiting any easier.”
“The waiting will make the reward even sweeter.” Rafe kissed her, slow and deep. “Now, let’s get these little hellions home for dinner before they realize we aren’t paying them any attention and really cause trouble.”
The children ran ahead, their little legs carrying them forward. Nora smiled, thinking of what she was about to share with her husband. “Rafe?”
“Yeah, baby?” His eyes were focused on Sophia and Devlin.
“I’m pregnant.”
Rafe stopped dead in his tracks. “What?”
“You heard me. Your super-wolfy senses must be slipping in your old age. I’m pregnant again.”
“That’s not possible.” Rafe shook his head. “I would know if you were pregnant.”
“Not this time, alpha.” Nora placed his hand over her stomach. “I cast a little spell.”
“You little minx,” he growled. “Why would you do that?”
“Because I can,” she said. “You’ve made me so much stronger as a witch. So much stronger as a woman. Have I told you today that I love you?”
“No, you haven’t.”
“I love you, Rafe Masterson.”
“And I love you, Nora Bellamy Masterson.” He took her mouth in a kiss full of reverence, gratitude…and love.
Rafe placed his hand over Nora’s stomach and rubbed gently. Another child. His child. Their child. A fierce surge of love and desire coursed through the bond, Rafe’s wolf preening at having their mate heavy with pup once more.
While not being able to decern anything about his child was disconcerting, all he needed to know was that they were both healthy.
Joy and panic warred within him. Then terror struck him. Two little hellions were enough of a handful. How would they manage three?
As if sensing his thoughts, Nora squeezed his hand. “We’ll be fine. We managed the twins, didn’t we? And this time we’ll be prepared.”
“Damn,” he muttered, his expression softening. “This means more sleepless nights and diaper changes, doesn’t it?”
“Definitely, wolf-man,” she admitted, wrapping her arms around his neck, her lips curling into a sultry smile. “But it also means more love, more joy, and more amazing moments together.”
“True,” Rafe conceded, his gaze locked on hers, their passion flaring hot and untamed. He lowered his mouth to hers, capturing her lips in a searing kiss that promised endless devotion and insatiable lust.
“Besides,” Nora murmured against his lips, her hands roaming over his broad shoulders, exploring the firm muscles beneath his shirt. “We’re pretty damn good at making babies, aren’t we?”
Rafe looked from Nora to their children playing nearby. His family. A family that was growing once more.
He pulled Nora close and kissed her, a fierce claiming that left them both breathless. “I love you, you impossible woman.”
“And I love you, you overgrown dog.” Nora smiled, eyes glowing with love and mirth. “Now, let’s get this lot home. We have some celebrating to do.”
