At exactly five o’clock Olivia opened the door to find James holding flowers, looking handsome and sexy in a pair of khaki pants and navy polo. She was instantly glad she’d chosen the sundress. They both looked casual and fun.

Fun. When was the last time she’d had fun—with or without a man, she thought with a sad smile.

“Hi, beautiful.” He greeted her with a smile that was hot enough to melt her panties right off her overheated body. His eyes roamed appreciatively over her. Olivia felt beautiful under his admiring gaze. Not that she expected anything sexual to happen on their date, but it would fill many a day—and late into the night—dreams for years to come.

She didn’t question why he’d asked her out, just glad that he had.

“You need to grab a jacket,” he said.

“Are you planning on keeping me out late?” she asked, taking a lightweight sweater from her hall closet.

“Do you have a curfew?”

“No, but maybe I’ll run away and leave only a slipper behind.” She didn’t know where the flirty imp inside her was coming from, but she liked it.

“Then, I’d just have to search until I find you again.” Again, that dark velvety voice did wonderful things to her girlie parts.

They walked to James’s vehicle, a four-wheel drive with all the bells and whistles. Olivia had read once that bartenders could make an extraordinary amount of money. Especially, she thought, at a place like Club Curve. The women would be very appreciative of being served by someone who looked like James.

Not that she was obsessed by a man’s looks. It meant more to her that he was kind and considerate. A good human being, rather than a handsome man.

But it didn’t hurt anything that James was so easy on the eyes.

“So, besides the bad experience, did you enjoy your time at the club?”

“Yes.” Olivia answered honestly. “It was very enjoyable. Jenny regularly tries to get me out and about.”

“You sound like a hermit.” He chuckled.

“No, just a little introverted.”

James helped Olivia into his vehicle, his hands lingering on her waist. Leaning over he pulled her seatbelt in place. With a small growl, he gave into the desire to kiss her full lips. Today they were pretty and pink, the red lipstick of the night before gone. While that look had driven his cock wild, he liked this one too. Young and carefree.

It was a brief but hard kiss that made his dick swell even though it had been innocent enough. He’d had to jerk off in the shower earlier just to make sure he had enough control for the day. This curvy lady had gotten under his skin fast.

Smiling at her dazed expression, he whistled as walked around the front of the car. He was glad he’d listened to his instincts and called her this morning. He just hoped she would enjoy the day with him.

Olivia gasped when they arrived at the marina. “You didn’t say we were going on a boat!”

James laughed, grabbing a picnic basket and blanket from the backseat. “And spoil the surprise?”

At the dock, he helped her onto a sleek looking boat. Olivia didn’t know much about seafaring craft, but it looked expensive. “Your boat?” she asked in disbelief and a hint of weariness.

“A friend’s,” James quickly answered, not wanting her to feel uncomfortable. “In fact, it was the man who rounded up your friend and who was flirting with you at the bar.”

Olivia blushed a bright red. “Oh, no. Did you see that?”

“Yes, and it took everything in me not to jump over the bar and punch him in the face.” Even though Lucas was one of his oldest friends, James couldn’t ignore the fact that he was jealous as hell of anyone who looked at Olivia. “He owed me a favor for flirting with you and, I couldn’t pass up a chance to impress you.”

The boat was in fact owned by James, Lucas, and their other friend, Matt. Matt hadn’t been around much lately and both James and Lucas were worried about him. But those thoughts were for another time. Not for when he had Olivia alone on the water.

It didn’t take James long to maneuver the boat out of the harbor. He didn’t go far, just far enough to leave the noise and lights of the city behind. It was nearing sunset and already the sky was turning orange and red as the sun started to sink. In just a little while it would be breathtaking, reflecting off the ripples in the water.

James spread out the blanket on the deck and unpacked the picnic basket he’d brought. He had chosen simple foods. Cheese, fruit, some small sandwiches, and wine. Plus, dessert. He glanced over at Olivia, her long hair blowing slightly in the wind. Of course, she was what he wanted for dessert. He wanted to lay her down on the blanket, spread her legs and get a taste of her pussy. Thoughts of her had made sleep almost impossible last night. “Hungry?”

Olivia sat down beside James, removing her sandals as she did. He handed her a plate and they ate as they watched the sun set, the sky darken, and the stars emerged one by one. Over another glass of the delicious wine, Olivia learned he’d been raised in a foster home. In fact, that was where he and Lucas had met. She was surprised he was sharing so much with her so soon. She usually found men reluctant to talk about themselves. Not James.

It was easy to talk to him about her family as well. He listened and asked questions. He didn’t just grunt in response. It was very nice to have someone’s full attention. Even sweeter when it was someone as handsome as James.
