Fuck, but he wanted her. He wanted to ravage her. Wanted his lips and hands on every curvy inch of her body.

In that moment, James knew he would never have his fill of this woman. As utterly insane as it seemed, she had well and truly captured him—heart, body, and soul.

A sharp knock on the office door startled them. They both grasped for air as they drew apart.

“Damn it,” he muttered, looking down at Olivia. She looked beautiful. Her lips swollen from his kiss and her eyes were dark with need.

Her chest was heaving and her breasts threatening to spill free.

He wanted to drag her dress down and suckle them.

Another knock on the door had him cursing. He pulled away, willing his cock to go down. His Little Red Riding Hood had unleashed the wolf, and he was hungry for more. He would have her—she just didn’t know it yet. But she would, soon enough. “Come in.”

Olivia sat there; the melting ice pack clutched against her wrist. She wanted desperately to believe the connection she’d felt was real but knew better. She was not a Disney princess and she had not been rescued by a knight in shining armor.

An impossibly handsome hottie, yes.

The stranger from the bar strode into James’s office, grinning in amusement with a worried Jenny trailing urgently behind him. “Sorry to interrupt, but this one insisted on checking on Olivia.”

“Oh, Olivia, what happened?” Jenny hurried into the room, taking a seat on the other side of her friend. “I didn’t see what was happening until it was too late. Are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital?” She eyed James distrustfully, clearly sensing the lingering tension in the room.

Olivia waved off her concern. It was typical Jenny behavior and Olivia wasn’t offended. “I’m fine, really.”

Lucas chuckled. “Something tells me James has things well…in hand.” His suggestive wink made Olivia blush. Jenny frowned in confusion before realization dawned on her.

“Oh. Ohh.” She glanced between Olivia and James, eyebrows raised. “Right.”

Olivia could tell Jenny was hesitating. But really, what was left to do?

Leave. That was the only option as far as Olivia was concerned. She’d had this small moment out of time and now it was over. She stood up, placing the ice pack on the side table.

James stood too, his eyes darkening. “Have a good night, Olivia. And remember, ice that wrist.”

“Thank you again.” Olivia smiled shyly under his gaze, remembering his attentiveness and the passion of their kiss.

He grasped her uninjured hand, raising it to his lips for a soft kiss. “The pleasure was all mine, Olivia. Sweet dreams.”

Her name on his lips made her tremble. She glanced at Jenny and the other man who had entered the room with her. They both had the same expression on their faces as if they knew what had just happened before they entered. Strangely, they both looked contrite at interrupting them.

Olivia let Jenny lead her away. She touched her lips, still tingling from the pressure of James’s mouth. She glanced back over her shoulder for one more look. He still watched her, eyes dark with unmistakable heat. She was practical enough to assume his kindness to her was simply that. Kindness. Then she remembered the feel of his mouth on hers. That had not been kindness. That had been heat and desire. Her heart raced knowing she’d been brave enough to venture out of her comfort zone tonight. She smiled and tucked away the memory for some future lonely night.
