She eyed the glass, not sure if she should trust it. She hadn’t ordered it. She hadn’t seen it poured. Who knew how long it had been waiting for her or if someone had come by and added something extra to it.

“What is it?” she asked, not wanting to be rude.

“Fireball. It’s a sweet, cinnamon whiskey.” He looked at her then at the glass in his hand and back again. “Oh, shit. I didn’t even think about it. How about I drink this one and pour you a fresh one? One you know hasn’t been drugged.”

Miranda narrowed her eyes as she watched him. “Why did he tell you to give it to me?”

“He didn’t say you had to drink it. Just for me to offer it.”

“Did he say why?”

“He said, ‘Tell her I said it will help her relax, but not enough that she won’t be fully in control.’ If you want, I’ll pour you another one.”

She stared at him for several seconds, her mind spinning. Could it be spiked with something? Sure. But had anyone here with the Sons of Sin done anything to hurt her? No. In fact, they’d gone out of their way to help her. She had been here long enough to know Frank, along with Bill and George, were prospects. They wouldn’t do anything against one of the brothers for fear it would mean they wouldn’t get patched in.

Without another word she took the shot glass from the prospect, tipped it back, and downed the contents. Then she coughed. She knew whiskey burned but she hadn’t been expecting the hot cinnamon burn too. She really should have known better, he’d said it was a cinnamon whiskey.

“Thanks,” she said between coughs as she handed the glass back. “He’s outside?” She motioned to the door with one thumb.

Frank stared at her wide-eyed, as if she’d surprised him, but nodded when she asked about Ashes. She didn’t wait for anything else but went outside. There, she found Ashes already sitting astride his bike, scrolling through something on his phone.

“Ready?” she asked as she stepped up beside the bike.

Miranda watched his face as his gaze skimmed down her body. He used one hand to lift one side of her sweater, then he smiled as he let it fall back into place.

“Can you get on like this or do I need to move first?”

“I can do it. Are we going to need the helmets?” She carefully placed one foot on the peg, then swung her leg over the back of the bike, careful not to lift her leg too high, then she tucked the hem of her dress and sweater beneath her before sitting. She didn’t need to put her bare cookies against the seat.

“Nope. We’re not leaving the compound and we won’t be going more than about ten miles an hour, if that. Hold on.” He started the motorcycle, sending vibrations through her entire body. Her body was already on edge, her core slick and hot, but the vibrations did something to her. She couldn’t help it when her breath caught in her throat. As he kicked up the bike rest, she wondered if the vibrations would make her come before they even got where they were going.

Miranda held onto his torso while pressing the top of her head against his back. She bit her lip as she tried to stay silent despite the pleasure building in her. Thankfully, he’d been telling the truth when he said they wouldn’t be riding long. She hadn’t paid any attention to where they were or where they were going but had trusted him. When he pulled the motorcycle into a shadowed area only a few feet wide, little more than a path between giant metal boxes like you saw on trains, and killed the engine, she took a deep breath and tried to calm her heart. It felt like it was stampeding through her chest. Still, she was determined to go through with this. She needed to prove, if only to herself, that she wasn’t just surviving but living.

She didn’t wait for Ashes to say anything but carefully dismounted, removed the small foil square she’d stored in the pocket, palmed it, then shrugged out of her sweater.

“Here, let me have that.” Ashes took it, folded it in half then laid it over the gas tank. “Now, are you ready?” He held out one hand toward her. It wasn’t much but it would make it a little more comfortable, she thought.

Miranda took his hand and let him steady her as she put one foot on the peg he normally used then swung her leg up and over the gas tank, not bothering to worry about anyone seeing her. They were isolated and she didn’t know if the whiskey was hitting her or what, but she didn’t care about being seen. What she cared about was the man who chose her. The one in front of her. The one she had no doubt was about to rock her world.

She sat on the fuel tank, facing him and had to fight to keep her face straight when her lady bits came into contact with the cold steel. She must not have managed it, because Ashes frowned.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, the tank’s colder than I expected.”

His gaze roamed her torso, heat filling his expression.

“You sure you’re up for this, Tiny Warrior? I’m good taking you back to our room.”

Miranda shook her head slowly. “I want this.” She offered him the condom in her hand. “Hold onto this for a sec. I don’t think we’re quite ready for it.” She smoothed her hands down his chest, pushing the sides of his cut out of the way so she could tease his nipples as she passed them on her path down to his belt.

“Hmmm. Maybe we’re closer than I thought.” She couldn’t help but feel the thick heat of his erection as she fumbled with his belt.

“Eager?”

“More than. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t wait. I’m hot and slick already.”

“What if I want to enjoy you a little more?” He eased the straps of her sundress off her shoulders, having done something with the condom she didn’t see. “I mean, you were so nice to leave your bra somewhere else, the least I can do is show you how much I appreciate it.” He eased the cloth down below her small breasts, and stared at them for a moment, as if he couldn’t get enough of just looking at them.
