“Then watch me stroke myself while I eat your pussy.”

“Grant! Oh God, yes. You’re so hot doing that. Looks so good.” She flopped back into the pillow.

“Keep looking at me,” I snarled as heat coiled in my balls and fought its way up my shaft. Getting to lap up the honey from her channel…it was damn near icing on the cake. Literally. “Look how hard I am for you.”

I knew this girl better than she knew herself at this point. When she sat up again, I fisted myself a little tighter, moved my hand a little faster. And the whole time kept my mouth working her pussy the way I knew she liked. It was taking serious coordination, but she was going to have an epic climax, I was sure of it.

“Grant! I’m coming…” she barely breathed, but I knew she was gone. When she had those silent orgasms, they were far more intense than when she moaned and cried out. Sometimes the silent ones scared me, though, because she looked like she blacked out for a moment or two.

While she still had her eyes closed, enjoying the last of her orgasm, I quickly stood over her and pumped my shaft the last few times necessary and spurted my own release across the inside of her thighs. When I was done, I had to resist rubbing the fluid into her skin like moisturizer until it disappeared into her flesh, somehow making my essence a part of her. I knew it was a totally barbaric notion, but the intense feelings I had for this woman turned me into an animal, and I couldn’t deny it. I wasn’t even trying to.

We decided to order in and ate sushi out of temporary containers at the coffee table in the living room. Rio had a cooking channel playing on the television, but we had the sound down low because neither of us were watching it. We were more interested in sampling each other’s dinner, laughing, talking, and just spending time together.

By bedtime, we were exhausted. With Rio just having gone back to Abstract this morning, she wasn’t used to the alarm going off at fuck-me-o’clock. If I were honest, it had been difficult for me to get up this morning too.

“Ready for bed?” she asked after we traded a bunch of yawns. “I have to be at the kitchen bright and early, so I’m going to go in.” She waved a hand toward the bedroom.

We weren’t completely familiar with each other’s workweek habits because we hadn’t had many sleepovers while she’d been working. There had only been two or three that I could remember.

“Yep. I’ll be right behind you. I just want to lock everything up and set the security alarm.” While explaining, I turned off the television and put the throw pillows back in place on the sofa. “Do you want a bottle of water for overnight?”

“Yes, please. Thank you for asking,” Rio called from the bedroom.

She was already pulling the covers back on the bed when I walked into the room, two water bottles in hand. Instead of handing her one, I pulled her against my body for one last upright embrace before we said good night. I didn’t think I would ever be able to stop touching her. This was why newly dating couples were so sickening to be around. Now I was that guy, and I still couldn’t stop myself from doing it. In fact, I just grinned and buried my face in her short hair and held her against me that much longer.

I was asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. And it must have been a deep, unconscious sleep, because before I knew it, I was waking up to get ready for work. Rio was still fast asleep beside me, but if she didn’t get up, she would be late as well.

“Morning,” I mumbled.

I didn’t hate mornings, necessarily. But I didn’t love them either. It usually took me an entire cup of coffee and a hot shower before I was ready for meaningful conversation. Somehow, I already knew that was okay by her. But not okay? Her still refusing to budge at my gentle nudge.

“Babe. Come on, we have to get up and get to work. You want to shower first? Or we could together?”

Well, that idea had me perking up a little quicker than usual. Normally when I woke up with a woman beside me, I just wanted her to leave. Morning shower sex was rarely an option I entertained. With Rio, everything was a whole new world. A brilliant set of possibilities. In this case, a little better than brilliant…

I slipped my hand beneath the covers, hoping to rouse her in more than the conventional sense. If I could get her body on board with the shower-for-two idea first…

But something wasn’t right. I knew it as soon as I touched her.

“What the fuck?”

I whipped the covers back. Panic was both an ice storm and forest fire in my blood. My chest pumped, battling for air. Massive fail. Oxygen was as rare as coherent thought.

I was on my feet in a flash. They were sweaty—yeah, my goddamned feet—and I slipped but recovered before falling. Frantically, I glared from one side of the room to the other.

What the hell was happening?

The room. I was examining my bedroom, but nothing was familiar anymore. The furniture…it was all nearly gone. The walls…the very air…smelled metallic and cold. And that definitely wasn’t my gorgeous Blaze lying so still in the bed.

I rushed to flip on the lights, but nothing happened. The room stayed dark and damp.

“What the fuck?”

My words had no volume. I couldn’t even hear them as echoes in my head.

Wait. Why is it so cold and damp in here?

We must have left the slider open on the third floor last night. We’d sat out on the deck before dinner and must’ve forgotten to close it when we came in. Being this close to the Pacific, the whole place got dewy overnight. I’d made that mistake once before, and it took days to dry the place out. The housekeeper lectured me for three weeks afterward.
