“No.” She laughs, pecking a kiss at the edge of my mouth. “Only because we need to be able to talk things through if one of us is upset or messes up, but I’m hoping we can spend some time together tonight.”

“That sounds good.”

“Perfect.” She beams, making my heart beat funny. “And if we get to bed at a reasonable time, we can go out for breakfast or lunch tomorrow. Just the two of us.”

I nod, swallowing thickly.

She might not be ready to call it what it is, but that sure as fuck sounds like a date to me.

Ten and Parish have a party going on in the living room of the suite. I don’t want to be an asshole, but they have like an hour or maybe an hour and a half to chill before I’ll have to go out there and show my ass.

Lumen and I have plans tomorrow morning, and I can’t have them keeping her up all night. Sure, we can do a little pick-me-up to get moving, but I don’t want her sleep-deprived and cranky on our first solo date.

The bed is comfortable, and I think we’re probably going to watch a movie and cuddle. That’s my assumption, anyway.

The bathroom door opens, and light streams out around Lumen.

I am so screwed.

She’s wearing a silk cream-colored spaghetti-strap tank top with black lace around the edges, paired with tiny black booty shorts. I almost groan as my head falls back against the pillows.

My hands slide down my sweats, and I regret not putting on underwear.

My cock perks up.

I fight the urge to push it back down. That would only encourage him, and he doesn’t need any of that.

When Lumen stretches back, cutting off the light, all we’re left with is the glow from the television screen and what streams in around the mostly pulled curtains.

I left them open a little so the morning light will helpfully get us moving if my alarms don’t do the job. I did research while she was getting changed, and I think I have a solid game plan for our date tomorrow.

Not a date.

Do not call it a date.

Whatever.

I have a plan for our non-date.

For our non-relationship.

Lumen comes to a stop at the end of the bed, and my head tilts. She plants her hands on the mattress on either side of my legs and crawls up my body.

I try to keep my eyes focused on hers, but dammit, her pajama top hangs, giving a perfect view of her tits.

She has to be able to feel that, right?

Lumen’s hand comes to rest by my head while the other cradles my jaw. She keeps herself from settling onto me, but kisses me.

Weaving my arms under hers, I squeeze her hips. I’m always up for kisses, but I also want to show her that I understand tonight is supposed to be us hanging out, getting to know one another.

I already feel like I know her better than any woman I’ve ever hooked up with.

No, dammit.

Pretend to be a gentleman.

Stay focused.
