Of course, it wasn't just some rich ass nigga trying to shoot his shot. Kaior had caught the attention of a man whose name carried weight all over Broward. Even Jon sounded nervous talking about him.

Meanwhile, I was sitting in my kitchen trying to figure out how I let everything slip through my fingers. I spent so much time lying, cheating, and chasing women who didn't matter that I never noticed the woman who did slipping away from me.

I finally cracked the bottle open and poured myself a glass, throwing it back before I could talk myself out of it. The hardest part was admitting I didn't want her gone. I wanted Kaior back. I wanted another chance to fix everything I had broken before somebody else finished building what I tore apart.

I would've walked away from Talia. I would've cut Jess off. Hell, I would've dropped every woman in my phone if it meant Kaior looked at me one more time and believed I was worth another chance.

I poured another glass and sat there staring at the wall, trying to figure out how the hell I was supposed to convince her that I finally understood what she had meant to me all along.

I pulled into the driveway and sat there for a second with both hands gripping the steering wheel, trying to prepare myself for a conversation I wasn't sure I was ready to have. The house looked exactly the same, but it didn't feel the same anymore. Kyrie's truck was parked in the driveway just as I expected. I climbed out, unlocked the front door, and stepped inside.

Kyrie was sitting on the couch with a bottle on the coffee table and a glass in his hand. His eyes were bloodshot, and the stubble covering his face made it look like he hadn't slept or shaved in days.

The second he looked up and saw me, he sat up so fast the glass nearly tipped over.

"Kaior."

"I'm just here for my stuff." I walked past him toward the bedroom, not bothering to look at him twice.

"Can we talk?"

"No."

"Kaior, please."

I grabbed a duffel bag from the closet and started shoving clothes into it, not folding anything, not caring about wrinkles, just needing to be out of that house as fast as possible.

He appeared in the doorway a minute later.

“Can you just give me five minutes?"

"I don't owe you five minutes." I zipped the bag and grabbed another one off the shelf. "I don't owe you anything anymore."

"I know I fucked up."

"You think?" I spun around, finally looking at him dead in the face, all the rage I had been holding onto finally breaking loose. "You had a whole baby with Talia, Kyrie! A whole child! And you let me babysit her! You let me sit on her couch and hold that baby not knowing she was yours!"

"Kaior—"

"THREE FUCKIN’ YEARS I WASTED ON YOUR ASS!" My voice cracked, loud enough to rattle the walls. "Three years I gave you, and you were out there building a whole other life while I was here thinking we were building something real!"

"I never meant for it to go that far."

"But it did!" I threw a pair of shoes into the bag so hard they bounced back out. "It went exactly that far, and you let it! Every single day you looked me in my face knowing what you had going on behind my back!"

"I know."

"You don't know shit!" I wasn't crying and I hadn't cried once through any of this. It was just pure fury pouring out of me with nowhere left to go.

"I'm done, Kyrie. I came here for my things, and that's it. You can go enjoy your bitches in peace, 'cause I'm not doing this anymore."

He stepped further into the room with his hands out like he was trying to reach for something that was already gone. "Please don't leave me."

"You should've thought about that before you decided to cheat and have a baby on me."

"I love you." His voice broke completely and the tears started falling. "I know I don't deserve another chance, but I'm asking anyway. Please, Kaior. I'll fix it. I'll fix all of it."

"You can't fix this."
