By the time we stepped back onto the floor, I forgot all about using the bathroom. I walked straight past the bar and made a beeline for the rope separating VIP from the rest of the club. I was ready to confront him all over again.
I ducked under the rope and walked straight into VIP like I belonged there. Jokah looked up from his drink, and the second our eyes met, I could already tell he wasn't happy to see me.
"So, this what we doing now?" I asked, looking between him and the bitch sitting beside him.
"What the fuck are you doing over here?" he snapped
"Oh... so this why you been acting funny."
"I asked you a question."
I ignored it, letting my eyes slide back to her.
"Oh, so you like bougie bitches now?"
"Watch your mouth."
I looked back at him. "What?"
"I said watch your fucking mouth."
The entire section went quiet.
"You don't know her well enough to be calling her out her name."
"So, you are defending this bitch?"
“I will always defend my woman.” He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "But you worried about the wrong woman."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah."
His eyes locked on mine.
"You should be worried about getting your own shit together."
That one hit.
"You always got jokes."
"Ain't shit funny. You spent years expecting me to carry you while you sat around doing nothing. I got tired of that shit and I left you. So, don't come over here acting like another woman took your place."
That shit was a slap in the face, and I couldn’t believe he embarrassed me like that in front of his new bitch.
"So that's what this is?"
"This is me moving on. You should do the same."
I stared at him, and for a second, I thought about taking it further, but something in his face told me he wasn't playing tonight.
"Whatever, Jokah."
Right before he could say anything else, his bitch laughed and that shit pissed me clean the fuck off.
"Bitch, what the fuck you laughing at?" I snapped.
"Bitch, I'm laughing at your desperate, bum ass. Go comb that dusty ass wig."
