There was a pause on the other end. "I don't think you're gonna wanna go to the club after you hear this."

"Armani, what's wrong?"

"Kaior..." She hesitated again, and I could hear her take a breath before she finally said it. "It's about Kyrie and Talia."

"What about them?"

"Chanel found out they been fucking for a while and Kyrah, is Kyrie's baby."

"What?" I gasped.

"I'm so sorry. Chanel found out today. She went over to Talia's place, and Kyrie showed up with a key and everything, like he lived there."

My mind immediately went to Kyrah and that gap-toothed little smile. I thought about every gift, every hug, kiss and every time I offered to help Talia because I loved her like she was family.

"How could she do that to me?" I fought back the tears pricking my eyes. "How could she smile in my face and keep something like that from me?"

"I don't know, Kaior." Armani sighed. "I really don't."

I sat there with the phone pressed against my ear, trying to make everything Armani had just told me make sense, but I couldn’t.

Jokah looked over just as he ended his call. The concern on his face was immediate.

"Kaior..." he said quietly. "What's wrong?"

I just stared at him with the phone still pressed against my ear while Armani's voice faded into the background. For a second, I couldn't process anything except the feeling of my whole world quietly falling apart.

"Kaior," Jokah said gently, his hand settling on my knee. "Talk to me. What happened?"

I lowered the phone from my ear, my fingers tightening around it as I struggled to find the words.

"It's Kyrie." My voice barely came out above a whisper. "He's been sleeping with Talia... my sister’s best friend."

My throat tightened.

"She has a baby by him."

Jokah's jaw clenched, and darkness masked his face before he forced it away. He didn't ask another question. He just pulled me into his arms and held me while I buried my face against his chest, trying to steady my breathing.

Armani's voice was still coming through the phone.

"Kaior?" she shouted. "Do you need me to come get you?"

"No," I managed to answer, pulling the phone back up. "I'm okay. I'm with Jokah."

"You sure?"

"Yeah." I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. "We still going to the lounge tonight?"

"You still wanna go after all this?"

"Yeah. Actually, I do."

Jokah stared at me after I hung up.

"You sure that's what you need right now?"

"I need to not think about it."
