"I'll fill it out tonight," I say, tucking my phone into my pocket. "And I'll make the doctor appointment tomorrow between classes."
Harper loops her arm through mine. "This is going to change everything," she says, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Chapter Five
Dominic
"You meeting us for a drink tonight?" Logan asks through my car speaker as I pull away from my office.
"No, I have some plans I still need to draft tonight," I say, rolling my shoulders to ease the tension that's been building all day.
"Told you," I hear Ethan say in the background.
"Tell him to shove it up his ass," I say, and Logan barks out a laugh.
"Fine, but we're going out tomorrow," he says. "We need to get you laid."
"I don't need help getting laid," I argue, changing lanes and accelerating past a slow-moving sedan.
"Yes, you do," he says.
"I agree with him on this," Ethan adds.
"If I want to get laid, I will. I don't need help from you two sluts."
"Uh, I'm offended," Logan says.
"You are a slut," Ethan says matter-of-factly.
"Fuck both of you," Logan says, and I laugh.
"I'm gonna go. I'll see you tomorrow," I say, already looking forward to the quiet of my house.
"Bye, sweet cheeks," Logan says, and I hang up on him.
I should have gone to meet them, but I'm tired. I just want to go home, grab a shower, and order some food. I don't have the energy for drinking and staying out late tonight, plus I don't want to hook up with anyone. Maybe Logan's right. Maybe I do need to get laid but the thought doesn't appeal to me the way it once did.
I pick up my phone when I stop at a light and call Harper. She answers on the second ring.
"Hey, Dad," she says, and just the sound of her voice improves my mood.
"Hey. What are you up to tonight?" I ask, pulling forward as the light changes.
"Just studying. We have more finals this week."
"You keeping your grades up?" I ask, though I already know the answer.
"Who are you asking?" she says with a laugh.
"Yeah, yeah, Miss Smarty Pants over here," I say, smiling into the empty car.
"Well, I get it from you," she says.
"Ha. Flattery will get you everywhere. So, are you guys ready to come here? Just two more weeks."
"So ready," she says, excitement clear in her voice. "I need a break, and I can't wait to see you."
"I can't wait either," I say as I pull to a stop at a red light. "So, did you get both of the tickets already?"
