Before she could finish the sentence, I pressed the small remote hidden in my palm.
Sage gasped, her entire body jerking as she clamped her hands down between her thighs. A low, soft, buzzing vibration instantly filled the quiet cab of the car. Her eyes blew wide, glazed with instant, overwhelming friction as she realised exactly what I had just put on her.
Glancing over at her writhing against the leather, a satisfied smirk cut through my face as I pressed my foot to the accelerator and pulled out of the car park.
I kept my hand firmly on the steering wheel, my right thumb resting casually over the buttons of the remote. With a quick click, I bumped the frequency up a notch.
Sage let out a strangled, high-pitched whimper, her back arching off the passenger seat. Her knees knocked together before sprawling wide, her hands flying down to hook into the waistband of the vibrating panties.
"Julian, please—no, I have to take them off!" she panicked, her voice shaking violently as she tried to claw the fabric away from her skin. "I’m going to come... I can’t stop it, please let me pull them down!"
"Hands off," I warned.
When her fingers didn't move fast enough, I reached across the console, wrapping my large hand over both of her wrists and pinning them to the passenger door. She was completely trapped now, left entirely at the mercy of the buzzing device.
"Julian, please…!"
I didn't give her a moment of reprieve. With my hand still locking her wrists together, I used my thumb to crank the remote to its maximum setting. The soft hum in the cabin escalated into a harsh, intense buzz. I leaned over slightly, using the back of my knuckles to press the vibrating fabric up and hard against her clit, anchoring it right where it would do the most damage.
My eyes locked onto her lap, watching the helpless twitching of her thighs. Her pretty blue eyes rolled completely into the back of her head, her jaw dropping as her body went rigid. She shattered right there in the passenger seat, a breathless, broken scream tearing from her throat as a massive orgasm ripped through her.
The sight of her caught me off guard. For a split second, my focus snapped away from the windshield.
The tyres caught the loose gravel on the side of the road.
"Fuck," I grunted, my vision snapping back to the road just as the car veered towards a ditch.
I slammed my foot on the brake and yanked the steering wheel. The car swerved hard, the tyres screeching in protest as I fought the momentum, finally forcing the vehicle to a rocking halt half on the grass. Dust and dry leaves swirled up around the windows before settling.
For a moment, the only sound in the car was the engine idling and our ragged breathing.
I let out a low, rough breath and rubbed the back of my neck, looking over at her. Sage was slumped against the passenger door, completely disheveled, her chest heaving as she stared at me with wide eyes.
The tense silence lasted only seconds before she let out a breathless, uncontrollable laugh.
"Death via vibrating panties is embarrassing, Julian," she choked out, running a trembling hand through her dark hair as she tried to steady her breathing. "I refuse to go out like that. Let's not try this again."
An amused expression spread across my face, the adrenaline still buzzing in my veins. I leaned back into my seat and put the car back into drive. "Message received, sweetheart. Next time, I'll pull over first if you like."
The kitchen island was a crime scene of neon greens and deep, syrupy reds.
“I’m telling you, it’s a waste of a good evening,” I said, leaning against the counter as I stirred a ‘Black Widow’ martini, the activated charcoal turning the gin into a swirling volcano. “If I have to sit through The Ripper for the third time in twenty-four hours, I might actually lose my mind. We need to go back to the classics—A Nightmare on Elm Street for example.”
Sage laughed, a loose, melodic sound fuelled by sugar and alcohol. She was leaning against the marble, her fingers tracing the condensation on her glass. “And you think Freddy is going to do it for us? It’s just dreams and claws, Julian. The Ripper has atmosphere…It has … edge.”
“Oh, please,” I countered, a smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth as I stepped closer into her space. “I know your game, Sage. I saw how fast you grabbed that costume at the store today. I’m starting to think you just have a thing for the guy in the movie.”
She defensively folded her arms over her chest, her face flushing a soft pink that had nothing to do with the cocktails. “I do not!” she protested, though her eyes were dancing with mischief. “It’s just a really good film, Julian!”
“Sure…..I believe you,” I teased, my eyes tracking the way her stained lips curved into a pout. “You want him, you just don’t want to admit it.”
She laughed again, taking one last, long sip of her drink before setting the glass down with a definitive clink. The playful, tipsy air in her speech was unmistakable now as she suddenly pushed off from the kitchen island, her movements a little uncoordinated but full of intent.
“Whatever you say, Mr. Film Critic,” she murmured, already beginning to back her way towards the hallway. “But I’m tired of arguing. Let’s go try on our costumes.”
I watched her retreat into the shadows of the corridor, her challenge hanging in the air like a dare. I followed her, the ‘Black Widow’ martini forgotten on the counter, my mind already shifting from the monsters on the screen to the one currently leading me into the bedroom.
I sat on the edge of my unmade king sized bed, completely silent, just watching her.
