Her eyes darken as ideas flicker through her head.

Oh, yeah. This is so fucking on.

HAILEE

Irritation still trickles through me. The memory of Hayden jumping in and talking for me is still blazing bright in my mind. But despite how much it annoyed me, I know it wasn’t malicious. He wasn’t trying to control anything or overpower me. He was just jealous.

I’ve never experienced anyone acting that way over me before, and I was at risk of focusing too much on how much I liked it. So instead of acting on that, I latched onto the anger.

Hayden stares down at me, his eyes blown with lust and regret. The fact that he’s self-aware enough to know what he did settles something inside me.

No one ever cared about their behavior making me feel any kind of way in the past. My feelings were inconsequential. But it’s nothing like that with Hayden.

He cares. He genuinely cares.

I take a step forward, and he takes one back, teasing me.

His taunt rings loudly in my head.

“What are you going to do about it?”

Fuck. There are so many things I want to do about it. But we’re limited while we’re in this club with almost the entire team up in the VIP section.

I take another step forward, but this time, he doesn’t move, ensuring I press myself up against him.

The music pounds around us, but I barely hear it. My attention is purely on him.

Stretching up on my toes, I get as close to his ear as I can before I shout, “You’re playing with fire right now, Monroe,” desire coiling tightly inside me.

Sliding my hands down his arms, I wrap my fingers around his wrists and move them behind his back as I trail kisses down his throat.

His pulse thunders beneath my lips, and his muscles pull as he swallows.

“W-what are you doing?” he asks, as I push him backward until he hits the wall.

“Exactly what you asked, baby,” I say, innocently batting my lashes up at him. “Clasp your hands behind your back.”

“W-what?” he stutters, his eyes searching mine in case he misheard me.

“Hands behind your back, Hayden,” I instruct firmly.

“B-but I thought we were gonna dance,” he stutters, confused, his brows pulling together.

“Oh, I’m going to dance,” I say as I roll my hips against his, and then slide my hands back up his arms and down his chest.

His abs jump as I glide my palms over them.

“Hails,” he groans as my fingers hit his waistband and don’t stop.

A smirk curls at my lips as I grasp him through his slacks, feeling him growing harder against my palm.

“Jesus,” he grunts.

“He isn’t going to help you tonight, baby,” I taunt before suddenly turning around and slut-dropping on him.

I glance over my shoulder as I stand back up and take in the tortured expression on his face.
