Indie had ruined me. Ruined me for other women. And I didn’t know what the fuck to do about it.
“Get off,” I said, my voice flat.
The stripper stopped and looked at me, confused.
“What?”
“Get off me,” I repeated.
She climbed off, looking hurt and confused, and I stood, pulling the condom off and tossing it in the trash.
“Did I do something wrong?” she asked.
I didn’t answer. Just fixed my pants and walked toward the door.
“Wait—”
I walked out, ignoring her calling after me.
When I got back to the VIP section, Kenzo was looking at me with a knowing smirk on his face. I glared at him. He raised his hands innocently, chuckling.
“I ain’t say shit,” he said.
But the message was clear.
He knew. He knew I couldn’t perform. Knew I was caught up over Indie. And he thought that shit was funny.
I sat back down and poured myself another drink, downing it in one gulp.
Antoine and Deacon were too busy with their own strippers to notice, but Wes was watching me with a curious expression. I ignored him.
My burner buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out. It was one of my lieutenants calling. I answered and he told me that the stash house on Crenshaw just got hit, and them niggas took everything.
My jaw tightened. “Yo,” I said, standing abruptly.
Everyone looked at me.
“We gotta go,” I said. “Stash house just gotrobbed.”
Kenzo’s expression went serious immediately. Antoine and Deacon stood, pushing the strippers off them.
“Let’s move,” I said.
We all headed out, leaving the bottles and the strippers behind.
Kenzo, Antoine, Deacon, and Wes got into their own whips while I climbed into my Bentley.
I started the engine and peeled out of the parking lot, my mind racing. I was speeding through the streets, weaving through traffic, my hands gripping the steering wheel tight.
Another fuckin’ robbery.
That made three in the past month.
Somebody in my organization was leaking information. Somebody was telling rival crews where my stash houses were, when shipments were coming in, how much product we had.
First, I was gonna find out who. Then I was gonna kill them. Slowly.
But even as I thought about the traitor, about the robberies, about the money I was losing…my mind kept drifting back to Indie.
