“Y’all loud as hell,” he said.

“Shut up, Zo,” Aurora said, waving him off. “Let us be excited.”

Stone walked up beside me, his hand going to the small of my back.

“Y’all ready to board, or y’all just gon’ stand out here screaming all day?” he asked, his tone amused.

I rolled my eyes at him. “Don’t rush me, nigga. Let me have my moment.”

Ish and Destiny walked up, both of them staring at the jet with wide eyes.

“Yo, this is crazy,” Ish said, shaking his head. “Ican’t believe we’re really doing this.”

“Believe it, lil bro,” I said, grinning at him.

Destiny looked at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Thank you for letting me come, Indie,” she said sweetly. “This is amazing.”

“Of course, girl,” I said. “You’re part of the family now.”

She smiled, and Ish looked at me with this grateful expression that hit me deep.

He was happy, and that made me happy.

“Aight, let’s get on this jet before Indie passes out from excitement,” Stone said, his hand guiding me toward the stairs.

I smacked his arm playfully. “I’m not gonna pass out.”

“You might,” Aurora said, laughing. “You look like you about to cry.”

“Shut up!” I said, but I was laughing too.

We walked up the stairs and stepped onto the jet, and I swear to God, my breath caught in my throat. The interior was a whole vibe. Cream leather seats that looked like they cost more than my old condo. Polished wood tables. Flat-screen TVs. A full bar in the back. Everything was pristine and luxurious.

“This is...” I trailed off, unable to find the words.

“Fire, right?” Kenzo said, grinning as he walked past me.

“Fire doesn’t even cover it,” I said.

Aurora grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the seats.

“Girl, come sit with me!” she said.

We sat down in two seats across from each other, and I ran my hand over the soft leather. Stone sat down beside me, his long legs stretched out in front of him. Ish and Destiny took seats toward the back, and Kenzo sat across from Stone.

A flight attendant in a crisp white uniform walked over with a tray of champagne flutes.

“Good afternoon, everyone,” she said with a warm smile. “We’ll be taking off shortly. Can I get anyone a drink?”

“Champagne for me,” I said immediately.

“Same,” Aurora said.

“I’ll take one,” Stone said.

“Me too,” Kenzo added.
