Moe pressed his hand to her lower stomach, holding her on the bed as he continued to pound inside of her.Her nerves rattled; every movement took her higher.Panting, she held on to the pleasure tightening inside of her.

She rolled her head side to side, unable to stop what he'd created.Crying out, she let go as her climax flooded her body.

Moe's hips rapidly moved back and forth, faster and faster, harder and harder, and he groaned, sinking deeply inside of her.Her legs shook at the pulses consuming her body.

He swiftly inhaled."Fuck."

It took all her strength to lift her head off the mattress and look at him."I have no energy."

He slipped out of her and grabbed her hands, pulling her up to a sitting position."I'm going to grab a shower before we open the store."

"Leave the water on."She watched him walk out of the room.

She flopped back on the bed and yawned. All she wanted to do was curl up on the mattress and sleep the hours away.

Once she heard the water running, she got up and used the toilet.Waiting for her turn to jump in and wash, she gazed at him through the glass sliding door.

Today would be the same as it was yesterday. They'd slipped back into the routine that Moe held for so many years in Everstill. Now, she was a part of the town.

Not that the others welcomed her.The men were a threat. She stayed far away from them. The only ones who brought her comfort were Kallie and Finn.Sometimes, after work, Kallie and she would sit outside the garage while Finn and Moe worked on getting another motorcycle running, so that Moe wouldn't miss his bike that was back at her house.Finn had one here, so they both took turns riding when they needed to let off steam, but Moe wanted his own.Luckily, they found one in the old gas station. All they needed to do was get it running again.

It took him no time to clean up, and she squeezed in and took his place under the showerhead. Not having to wash her hair, she quickly soaped and rinsed off.

Less than a half hour later, they walked through the front door of the store and flipped on the lights to spend another day in Everstill.

Chapter 36

Jillian

––––––––

The bell over the grocerystore door jingled as Kallie stepped inside, brushing wind-tangled hair out of her face.Jillian was behind the counter, sorting inventory lists while Moe stacked cans on the shelves, his attention half on the work and half on the men who drifted in and out.

Kallie smiled as she approached."Hey, you.Finn walked me over so I could bug you while he wanders around town."

Jillian relaxed. The store had become her third home.Rows of food, familiar tasks, and Moe always nearby made Everstill feel less like a cage and more like a place she could exist in.She and Kallie had become best friends in a short amount of time.
