His hips snapped forward, filling her in one sharp stroke. The suddenness of it punched the air from her lungs, her cry muffled against his shoulder.Moe didn't let her recover. He set a relentless pace, his thrusts deep enough to make her see stars."That's it," he growled, his hand fisting in her hair, tilting her head back."Take it, sweetheart."

Jillian's fingers scrabbled against his shoulders as Moe drove into her, the bed frame protesting with each thrust. The heat between them was unbearable, sweat-slick skin sticking where they touched, but neither of them cared.Moe's breath was ragged against her neck, his teeth sinking into the junction of her shoulder as if marking her all over again.

"Look at me," he growled, his grip tightening in her hair.

She forced her eyes open, her vision swimming, but the intensity of his gaze pinned her more effectively than his hands ever could. There was something feral in his expression, something that made her stomach twist with anticipation.

"You're gonna come again."His voice was rough, his thrusts turning uneven as he fought to keep his rhythm.

Jillian could only nod, her throat too tight to speak, her body tightening around him in response.

Moe groaned, his forehead dropping to hers, his breath mingling with hers."Fuck, I can feel it—"

His words dissolved into a curse as she clenched around him, her orgasm ripping through her with a force that left her gasping. He followed her over the edge with a ragged groan, his hips stuttering as he spilled into her, his grip cradling her skull instead of pulling.

For a moment, they stayed breathless, tangled, neither one willing to move. Then Moe rolled onto his back, dragging her with him, her body sprawled across his chest.Jillian could feel the rapid hammer of his heartbeat beneath her cheek, the rise and fall of his chest as he caught his breath. His fingers traced idle patterns along her spine, the touch almost absent, but the possessiveness in it was unmistakable.

Chapter 19

Moe

––––––––

Jillian drove withboth hands on the steering wheel.Moe kept glancing at her, thinking about how easily he could reach out and touch her.

He wasn't used to that.He wasn't used to any of this.

The world he remembered and the one outside her car window looked familiar in shape but wrong in detail.New buildings where old ones should've been.Roads widened.Signs changed.People dressed differently.Cars were quieter, smaller, and bulkier.

Twenty-nine years away from all that he'd known. He still couldn't wrap his head around it.

Jillian pointed out the window as they passed a strip mall."That used to be a GameStop when I was a kid.Now it's a gym."

He nodded, though he hadn't recognized the area.In almost three decades, everything had changed."Wasn't here before."

"Most of this wasn't," she said gently."You're not imagining it.In the last ten years, the city has grown enough that even I don't recognize it most days. It's all housing developments. There is no farmland left."
